Anyone able to customize or install a factory ladder rack on the one side of their truck. I do roof inspections/sales for a living and need to carry a ladder but I would like to be able to remove the rack on weekends. The hump in the bed is preventing the install of a traditional ladder rack. Any ideas? I've searched the forum.

    Oh look, another mod....

I bought this ladder off Amazon, it's a collapsible ladder. It's tall enough to get me onto my roof (and there are taller ladders with other attachments for roofers). Maybe this would be a better fit for you?

Much appreciated. I've used these telescoping ladders in the past and they are worth their weight in gold. I think they only have up to 16' lengths and I routinely use my 32' ladder. I wish they made a factory rack for Tacomas for just one ladder. I'm not too stoked on having a permanent rack on the truck. The compromise is to use a back rack near the cab and a standard single mount in the back. I'm considering that unless I see some other suggestions. Thanks again.

They do have a 20ft, with those extensions for roofers like you. But if you need a 32 footer, then yeah...this ain't for you. Maybe this:

    It's easily mountable and removable.
