Hello all and thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 2009 Tacoma. I recently drove from tx to nc. On the way I lost power and the truck started idling hard. I couldn’t go over 3500 rpm. I checked the codes at auto zone and it said 1and2 misfire. I changed the spark plugs and checked the coils they seemed good. I also moved coil 1 to the three spot to see if the fault followed before I changed the coils. It did not. After I checked the code again it still read 1 and 2 misifire. I would assume if the coil was bad it would have read as 2and 3 but did not. If anyone has any more advice for troubleshooting that would be great

If the code didnt follow the coil I'd be doing a compression test just for sh--ts and grins

And did you clear the codes after the switch? One and two are on opposite banks, it would be rare that both head gaskets would go bad at the same time, but you never know. Follow the wiring to look for grounding and/or rodent damage.
