That's a horrible idea. What time?
I just found a Toyotas and Coffee group down here. Meets once a month and any Toyota badge is welcome. One in Maryland meets at Krispy Creme. The other group is a Cars and Coffee that meet at. Dunkin Donuts in a few locations.

    W. Michigan checking in. Interested in Toyota Takeover at Silver Lake. Any date announced for '23? GF has a 4runner and it would be the perfect excuse for us to take both vehicles.

Probably all of that. Most Tacoma owner's seem to be from CA, based on both my experience and the marketplace sellers seeming to always be in CA (not based on any actual statistics). I've seen quite a few more Tacos recently in W Michigan, but by and large, this is Big 3 country.

There are a few Tacomas around Grand Rapids but most of them are bone stock and keep to themselves.
That said, I am part of the KDMax Tuning Network if anyone is looking to get their vehicle tuned. You can expect improved throttle response, shifting, HP/TQ, and overall better drivability. Here's the link to the Official KDMax forum.

There has been a few update since I last tuned you. If you're ever in Grand Rapids, let me know, or I can put you on a notification list for when I visit SE Michigan.

I don’t have any plans in the foreseeable future to visit GR. I remember you said you visit SE MI on a semi regular basis,
If that’ still true I would be interested in see what you’ve got as far as updates.

The new 9.0 update is super nice. Eliminates any throttle jerkiness from before and smooths out the torque curve. Basically, it's everything slightly even more better

The MTB scene is pretty big in west Michigan so it's not really surprising in that aspect. But, you're right, definitely not like in Maui where there are lots of them and pretty much all modded with no place to off-road them.

I never knew much about the off road scene in when I was in MI. The move to VA sure changed that. Tacoma's everywhere, lots of mods on trucks that look like they get used. And lots of DD's as well. Getting away from the "Big Three" area, the vehicle traffic sure looks different. And we have a pretty active group and active sub groups down here as well.

If any of you head this way, let me know. We'll get you a couple thousand feet higher than the flatlands of MI (that I sometimes miss).

Lol, will do. I have been to Utah and Colorado with this truck though! Definitely a different scene away from Big 3 country...and outside the rust belt in general. There's some good stuff in Lake County, MI and of course, the UP.

I've had the truck in TX, NM, and AZ. It is a bit different than what we do here. More mud and trees, and the fall off the side isn't quite so far... I do want to get up there with the truck for a long weekend or so.

You're not kidding about the fall lol. My truck is stock though so I try to keep it relatively tame for off roading. About as sketchy as I've gotten is some forest roads in Newaygo County, Copper Harbor, and a slow trip down Gemini Bridges Road and a few others in Moab...only half on purpose lol

I have been on Union Springs Trail (the second hardest one here) stock. One no by-pass obstacle is about (guessing) 18-20". First off road trip with the truck, and all I did there was stall it (MT). Second attempt the truck walked over it. I did Big Levels 4X4 Trail after the mods and it's a good thing. A lot of rocky passes and a lot of water. It's highly advisable not to run this if it's rained and you don't have a snorkel. It had been dry (no rain) for two weeks when we went. When I changed the air filter I found some mud in the air box. They call that stretch the truck killer. See the water line at the scoop? I won't take you there.

A relative of mine learned the hard way about having a scoop for his 2nd gen. I don't risk that at all. There's always some decent puddles in Copper Harbor, but definitely nothing like that.

It wasn't the scoop, that's just for looks. The intake is over the passenger front tire and that's where it came in. I need to do some reinforcing of the fender liner that was pretty hacked up on the bumper install. There is a mod to move it up on the firewall by the fresh air intake for the cabin, but the ABS control appears to be in the way. I like ABS.
