Motorcycles BS Thread 2.0

Bikes like that kind of make me sad. It's too pristine to ever be a full runner, it's a show piece now. I don't want to imagine what it would take to get an almost 40 year old bike back to running condition with only .1 mile on the clock. You'd have to do a full engine rebuild minimum, seals, gaskets, anything rubber.

I'm a firm believer that bikes are meant to be ridden. You can 100% keep a bike in pristine condition and still take it out on a sunday stroll every once in a while to keep it mechanically sound, too. There was an interesting discussion on it on high side/low side five or six episodes ago on the topic of to ride or not to ride for bikes of historical value or zero mile new in the box kinda thing.

 

Were you able to negotiate a nice deal? The salesman has no leverage at this time of the year with 2023 around the corner. Sometimes the manufacturers have nice year end deals/rebates.

 

It's a 2023 model, no negotiating, take it or leave it. Kinda like it's been with cars until recently. Until there is inventory on the floors that's the way its going to be. Nope, I paid full pop. Just happy to get it. I might have been able to get a 2022 for a little less but I wanted this color.

 

You guys think you have dating problems? Lol. Try dating in your 50's man talk about baggage and fucked up morals and values, or the total lack there of. Just when I was ready to give up I finally found my Betty. We are now in our 60s. She treats me better than all the women I've been with my whole life. She never nags or complains, doesn't try to change me, just accepts me for who or what I am. We never fight or argue, we have adult intelligent conversations. We just are.......

Lol yeah. by all accounts, the ex was a great chick. Just a little too needy, and the timing was very off between us. The timing being the biggest issue, I can handle neediness and it's nice sometimes lol.

Lol i can imagine it only gets worse as you get older, I figure now is good practice at being comfortable with myself and my hobbies, and my pup. Glad it worked out for you though, that sounds like the ideal relationship.

Lol to be fair, I am one of those close-to-30's peeps that goes out every weekend, usually multiple times. But i also maintain a good career, work out, am active outdoors, have multiple different hobbies/interests. Being well balanced is a big priority for me....not so much for other people from what I've seen lol. The only thing I'm really lacking is the desire to be a father, which is understandably a pretty limiting factor lol.

ha yeah it’s on the tender and has ethanol free gas in it, so not worried about it sticking around till spring. I’m in no rush to sell and I am firm on trying to get $4k out of it.

 

yaaa sometimes that happens timing is always a pain when it comes to ages... the girl i liked was in her early 20s and had planned to go to school in Florida next year and we had talked about it and since i had a good job here in my state we both didnt want me to leave just to be near her in Florida so we decided to stay friends and see where things went obviously that didnt work lol

man i try to go out every weekend but once its cold nobody does anything haha tbh neither do i lol i hate cold! but im just about the same besides the working out bit lol never cared to do it to much effort haha. for me im not fully against being a parent but idk if im ready tbh? i know im late 20s but i just dont know i feel im not mature enough to take care of a humans lol i do pretty good with my pup but i still falter at times so idk if im fully ready for it...

you know for a fact its just gonna be guys then asking who wants to go ride this weekend because nobody got a date lmao

Yup timing can be a real bitch lol. Yeah we just brave the cold when we go out or try to switch to house parties, luckily CA cold is plenty manageable lol. As far as kids...idk the thought of them seems nice but then the responsibility of them and potential to fuck them up or have them turn out fucked up through no fault of your own seems too high for it. I do catch myself daydreaming on having kids here and there sometimes, but my dog fills the void for me lol.

In other news, had a pretty stressful morning today. First thing, I take my dog out for a walk and run into our landlord who says he had no idea a dog was living there and we have a problem even though I remembered distinctly getting him approved before I moved in. Luckily his wife remembered and he apologized for it.

Then I go out to take my bike to work, and find that a 15lb crowbar has been dropped on it. Not sure how it could have happened, seeing as that same crowbar has been leaned up against the wall the past 6 months I've had the bike with no issues, and this is how I found it, which doesn't seem like it fell on it's own. Landlord was in there grabbing some packages addressed to him this morning, so I'm assuming he moved some stuff around and caused it to fall. Not a huge deal since the damage is minimal, and I don't really care all too much anyways as I was planning on changing fairings down the line at some point. Just irritating to see. If it had slid out on it's own, it wouldn't have landed like that. would have had to fall outwards to hit that high on my fairing, and I'm 100% positive those scratches weren't there before, reinforced by the fact I could wipe some rust off of it after, which lines up with the crowbar head being rusty.

 

lucky its cold out here lol its gonna be -5 today with the windchill and we are in a winter storm warning until friday and friday is gonna be -35!
ya i feel you on that man kids sound nice but at the same time the stress of having them and raising a shitty one is stressful haha so i get that and agreed my dog fills that void of being a pain in my ass enough lmao
