Some kind of cyclone bomb coming to a town near you ! Can't even watch the news anymore, so dramatic with the weather. Life threatening..... decade storm.....blah blah blah ... so it's going to get cold. Besides that GM. Friday for me. Enjoy all.

 

I'd like to formally protest this incoming cold weather. As a human of smaller stature, this should be downright illegal for PA to get this cold.
Is "Hibernation" a justifiable excuse for not leaving the house and going to work (It's plausible that there are only 5 shifts left, depending on when the replacement comes off training...)?

I think what makes this worse, is the fact that A) nights, and B) the plant is legit right on the damn river...

 

I'll start passing the formal protest forms for signature. Just who the hell do we send it to?
Going from 47 and dropping to 8 in a matters of a few hours just sucks. Worse, it stays frigid through the weekend.
I forecast many, many AAA calls for battery jumps.

Good morning all. My last day of work until Tuesday. Sign me up for the whole hibernation thing too! I'm reasonably certain I have enough body fat stored currently to sleep for at least a few weeks and hopefully wake up when it gets warmer.

For those of us with battery jump packs this might be a good time to recharge them all before the temps drop and we might happen to need them for our own vehicles or for someone we know.

Have some sever high winds coming in as well. Drop from 50 in the early morning to 12 at night with real feel, love that, real feel… anyway that is sitting at -13
High winds, frigid temps, maybe my generator may actually get used. Not that I want it to but we'll see.
Anyone see that movie The day after tomorrow? Sort of has that feel.
Look out for frozen reindeer falling out of the sky.

Check your car insurance Pennsltucky...Geico just increased mine by about 50% per month. Got in a chat with a rep and they said it was nothing to do with my account, just inflation, repair costs, more distracted drivers, etc. Will be shopping around in the next few months.

 

Everyone preparing for the Arctic air...this was the first time in about a week I have been able to walk my dogs in the morning. I like 20* and still air. Enough wind will make 45* air brutal.

It looks like the Pittsburgh area is not going to get much snow. The iced over roads and wind will be the issue. We were supposed to meet my mother for lunch tomorrow but she is scared to go out, so, another day. The grandson asked to skip the 1/2 day of school he had today. he said there was going to be no classes: just your choice of watching movies, or playing volleyball or board games. But none of his friends were going to be there, so I thought, "what the hell, start your vacation early."

 

We had a light coating of snow earlier but it's just rain now. Temp is very low but it is supposed to warm up.

 

This made me laugh using the restroom at work…

 

Just wet outside now. Maybe 1 inch by Saturday? But cold.
