Not even 1000kms yet .. got a flat

Better knock on wood! I went through Green River in 2012. Place was pretty depressed. Looked like the 09 financial crisis had not been easy on it.

 

a couple relevant things in this almost post anything thread:

les schwab isn't really les Schwab anymore. a couple years ago they sold out to a conglomerate (CA based i believe).
I used real family les Schwab exclusively for many years. always honest and free beef
i needed tires for another vehicle (old camper van) last year and went to les Schwab and got completely scammed.
proposed charging me tpms for tires that have none. and other bs. when i mentioned, he took it off. i did not go forward.
never again. hope they go out of business. website sucks too. and it was the first empty les Schwab showroom i was ever in.
Discount tire treated me right and they now have a new customer. i purchased and scheduled on website and when i drove in, there was a placard welcoming me by name.
pretty funny...they were trying real hard and it worked.

the 2nd day i had the taco i was on a 2 lane rural hwy doing about 50. a long bed dump truck without a tarp
passed in the opposite direction and i guess hit a bump and dirt and rocks came flying out and covered the taco, including windshield blackout. pulled over
and checked it out. most debris blew off before i stopped. i was ready to chase down offender. NO damage to taco, not even a windshield crack (thought i heard it as it happened). couldn't believe the luck (bad and good).

EDIT: i think this thread was originally in 3rd gen. looks like it is canadian now.
must have changed while i was typing, if that is possible. if not, no idea how i got to it. not even drinking

A few years ago Kal Tire in Cambridge plugged a flat on my VW for free. I was pleasantly surprised. I did buy a set of tires from them a year later because of it.
Appreciated their customer service so I guess the tactic works at least sometimes
