It's hard not to be biased....I looked at the scout as well, but read a couple horror stories about customer service and quality control issues (it is Adventure Manufacturing rebranded as Scout, which means its coming off a massive production line), which steered me away. It's got a composite build but as far as I know, it's still a wood frame, which doesn't have nearly the longevity of the riveted aluminum Kimbo build. The nail in the coffin for me was the cabover bed length. The Kimbo's is longer which is important for [relatively] tall people like me 6'1".

As requested, pictures of the kitchen. It is not finished, and I have verry little talent when it comes to carpentry, but here it is.

What are you using for the backsplash - looks great with the Kimbo finish on the strut.

It's tough to tell in the pix, will the cupboards interfere with your view of the countertop?

I think another benefit you have there is the weight is more centrally located than on the rear. May have to start thinking of version 2.0 for myself.

It is a Oven. My van had a single burner with a coleman oven that went on top. This time i wanted a dedicated oven i can stick my lunch in while im working.
The backsplash is a peel and stick aluminum tiles. i think i paid $56 CAD for the lot of them and stuck them on to a 1/8 plyboard.
And if i was any taller (5'6) i would not be able to see the counter top that well. However i could have easily made the cupboards 3-4 inches shorter and not lost that much space.
This was the exact reason i went with the bare bones version. I knew i would need less sitting room and more living room.
Ill be sure to update with pictures of my office area and the composting toilet setup once it is done. 50/50 chance when i take the picture there will be someone sitting on it.

Hey all. Does anyone having a problem with their Dickinson heater shutting off and not being able to stay lit after? It's so strange... it'll run perfectly fine for 20-30 minutes and then shut off. After it shuts off in this manner it will not relite for anything. Once the shutoff happens, itt's like the stove isn't getting any propane unless the button is held in. If I wait a few hours and try again it will eventually stay lit again, but it happens so often that I'm hesitant to do any cold weather camping and that's the reason I bought the Kimbo. Would love to go camping this weekend with peace of mind in the cold Colorado weather!

    Anyone have a similar issue?

That is very strange indeed - never ran into that issue. Using the regulator that came with the Kimbo? Are you driving with the heater running? Sounds like there is definitely a serious issue...is your carbon monoxide detector working properly?

Yes sir, using the stock regulator from Kimbo. Everything for the heater is stock from Kimbo. I have never drove with the heater running, this is happening while sitting in my driveway. Carbon monoxide detector seems to be working and gives a warning beep every time I plug in my power supply, so I THINK it's functioning properly. Very frustrating indeed.

Hey all - we are coming off our first winter camping stretch. Overall pleased. Condensation not too terrible - though there was an impressive amount under the mattress (which still puzzles me how that happens haha). The main issue we had was a pretty significant draft from the fridge exhaust port (?). We have the standard kimbo with the kitchen addition. Has anyone sealed this off in the winter? thx

Very Curious indeed - the easiest thing to do would be to have Kimbo send you a new regulator and replace that to begin with...could be the regulator diaphragm is failing/leaking and that's what is shutting off the tank supply...just a guess tho

Magunha.....there should be a foam insulation wall (removeable) blocking off the fridge opening to prevent outside air from coming inside.....did they forget to put that in in that opening?

We wanted to expand the counter top. Ordered the sink piece from Kimbo with out the sink cut out. Kept the sink as a dump sink and added an electric dometic water tap. The French cleat holds it firmly in place and is easily removable.

Cool! Was thinking of doing the same for a deeper sink. How much they charge for that piece if you don’t mind me asking?

    happy holidays!

Are you referring to space under the fridge? That is a an open space that we put blankets in and seemed to help
    .
It seems now most air comes in through the exterior hooded vent...

Great idea, but that seems like a steep price to me from Kimbo. Another option to save some $ would be to trace sink area with butcher block paper and make the cuts.
