We gave our 16 year old his first Taco tonight

He looks so happy! He's be almost 30 by the time he needs a replacement. What an awesome gift!

 

He looks like the type that does donuts and full sends. Spoiled shits! HAHA.
I know my son will get my 2021 in about 10 years.

 

When our daughter went off to college, we sold her the Geo Prizm with 150K miles for $10. She didn't like it, not cool enough to be sitting in the Montana State parking lot with all the giant Fords and Chevys. But it was a reliable little vehicle, cheap to insure and cheap to maintain. Fast forward a couple of years, she totaled it rounding an icy curve. She was OK, thank goodness, but she very quickly learned to appreciate the Prizm when she then had to finance her own used car, a dog of a Subaru (no offense to dog owners). She was eventually able to wrangle financing on a new vehicle, and boy howdy does she take care of it!

 

Wow... Never give my kids a brand new vehicle... Beater first and sometimes second, then they want one, they better bust their ass earning one.

 

Why lock it, people should have opinions and the freedom to express themselves without the threat of being shutdown. This thread is like the gift that keeps on giving : )

A couple of years back, one of my coworkers 16 year old daughter was ready for her first vehicle. She was a bit spoiled, they live quite well, he gets a new vehicle each year.

He gave her a 2004 buick lesabre, she was beside herself and told dad, she could not drive that car to school or be seen in it…and continued to rant about the car. He told her ok, he would take care of it.

A few days later she wanted to know what she was getting and when. He laughed at her and said, you can get whatever you want, but you’ll have to pay for it, I’ve sold the Buick

Two months later she was asking for the Buick, lol.

 

And your post (and many others) reeks of envy. It's not a good look.
