Story #1.....

So me and a buddy were standing there in a public land parking lot just carrying on and whatnot and he looked down the levee there and said looky there at them two deer that was a couple hundred yards away so then he came up with the (rather brilliant if you ask me) idea of sneaking down the other side of the levee and easing over the top of it and possibly shooting one with his bow (perfectly legal btw) and as we were standing there cussing and discussing his options on exactly how to achieve the goal that he had set forth well one of them flew off and that was the precise moment that we realized that....they were blue herons

Story #2.....

We did a lil bit of scouting in the (somewhat) fresh snow and found a spot about 60 yards wide that boy oh boy there was some deer walking thru there so we decided that we'd get about 60 yards apart (in them climbing treestands that we both got) and lo and behold here comes a deer and it looks like its gonna just kinda split the difference betwixt us (which would in fact be repugnant) but after giving it some thought the deer in question decided to go closer to my buddy and I was watching the whole thing and I watched him shoot it and I watched that deer run about 20 yards and I watched it fall over dead yes I did and now its hangin in my shop and tomorrow he gonna come make it into edible cutlets for his family to gnaw on fer a few days. It was a girl deer.
