I have Toyo 285/75r16 tires, currently running stock rims.

I eventually want to upgrade and run some negative offset rims, my question is.....can these tires work with negative offset rims, how does that work? I don't want to go more than -20.

If you go - then -10 work 285 will give you just a tad of poke for a nice offset. -20 + will be a good amount of poke. you will def need to do the usually cab mount, Pinch, caster etc but no issues using. The offset will only change for the rim position. If you went wider or narrower it would have more affect of it works or not. Most tires I’m that size are 7.5-9 in width so match that accordingly.

You'll probably be fine running -10. I'm running -25 right now and I have my caster set at +4. I had to cut the fender, CMC, and cut part of the front bumper to clear the tires with this particular offset.
