I created a Facebook account once to sell a tractor. Sold the tractor to the guy down the road the next day. So I didn’t even need to create an account. I have 1 friend, and it’s my old boss.

I never check it. And if I have been hacked, I don’t know about it

The only reason I keep it is in case I need to sell something on marketplace again one day.

 

I think I've been on FB for about 12 years now and have changed my password 3 times. Never had issues with being hacked or cloned. Had friends that had issues and that's usually when I'd change mine preemptively to be safe. I try to limit my time there anyway as I'm just too tired of the political BS. Not on Twitter, Instagram, Tic Toc, or anything else besides this place and a few motorcycle forums.

I have never gotten a message quite like one before. This is from an autistic woman who I met through another autistic woman, who I met once at a party back in October; I have literally met her once, so this was a bit confusing. The incorrect spelling isn't suspicious because a lot of people on the autism spectrum seem to type so fast that the autocorrect can't keep up.

 

I ended up blocking this girl's account from messaging me until she can change her password and regain control of her account (I did not block her account entirely). As you can see, the hacker/scammer tried to get me to type in some sort of code...

 

That's just her full name and some other personal info; I wouldn't have blacked it out if it were just random person spamming me and not the hacked account of someone I know...

Haven't been hacked yet there in over 10 years.

I mainly use it for promoting events etc for my part time job, free advertising is always good for a small business. Otherwise to keep up with similar events, concerts, and friends who I don't really see much of anymore.

My page is mostly Star Wars and cats. To each thine own but I don't feel it necessary to tell people every detail of my life.

 

Facebook has become about 90% less annoying since I changed my messenger settings and now only friends can message me. Before that, I was getting up to three messages a week, always from women who either pornographic webcam girls or cryptocurrency scammers. One time, a gay guy automatically assumed I was gay because my profile popped up in his "people you may know" feed, and randomly messaged me then responded in a rather profane manner when I asked him why he was messaging me.

@98tacoma27 probably remembers this story; I once encountered a drunk middle-aged woman at a bar who flat out asked me if I was gay because I was by myself and wearing a Hawaiian shirt...

 

The fact that I blacked out her personal info, or the fact that somebody hacked her account and is posing as her?

 

Honestly, neither do I; I do post shit on FB that I probably shouldn't post, but most of it is political and none of it is inappropriate (except for the fart jokes and toilet humor). Facebook put me in a jail for a day maybe two weeks ago because I posted a "shoot your local pedophile" meme.

 

Last part, has the gal been able to change her account login info?

 

How about you just don’t talk to anyone via PM on Facebook unless you personally know them well?

 

This girl is a mutual friend of two good friends, and I've met her personally, so I think she's been vetted enough; I have my account set up so nobody who isn't a friend can message me, and only friends of friends can send me friends requests. It's worked out quite well.

 

No idea; I believe she is at work and not aware of it yet, but her mom is aware of it.

Also, I've told all of my guy friends to block Rose on Facebook. The only reason she reached out to me back in August 2021 is because she wanted a guy to (A) fuck her, and (B) support her so she can sit on her ass at home all day and not work. She was moderately attractive when she was between 18 and 23 years of age, but I cut ties with her the first time in January 2013, when she was 22; I saw her once in late 2013 or possibly early 2014 when she was working at the supermarket near my house, but I didn't see her or hear from her again until August 2021 when she got kicked out of her friend's house.
