Went out 2 days ago on a cold morning and my door speakers just stopped working. Tweeters work fine. Any ideas?

Stock non JBL head unit.....I did upgrade both the door speakers and the tweeters with
Infinity Reference 9633IX 6"x9" and the Subaru tweeters which have worked fine for about a year...
    Many thanks in advance..

Did it rain at all where you live, or did take it through a carwash?

Nope.. I suppose its possible something thawed and froze but that seems unlikely for both door speakers stopped at the same time...

FWIW I did check the fader control...

And now.. after sitting in the sun with a temp above 20f they are working again... I am guessing the head unit is the issue thats why both door speakers at the same time stopped working but who knows.. maybe a connection I suppose......

cold (as in 0 degrees F)can do funny stuff to electronics and this has certainly happened to others

there was a post a while back with some infinity's that rusted out on the terminals. dustin_meeks had said he's seen it more than once with the brand. like they don't weatherproof their gear correctly.

i would check the door speaker terminals.

That will be on the list of things to check….. supposed to get a warm(er) day here soon… that’s when I’ll do that, I try not to take plastic and trim apart when it’s cold… if only I. Had a heated garage that wasn’t filled with motorcycles and lawnmowers and …..

Speakers seem to be working not working depending on the temp.. the colder the less inclined they are to work... sometimes one worms and the other doesnt... sometimes they are at half volume and distorted...
Never had an issue like this with speakers but thats how it goes...

I've had it happen on several occasions, running Infinity speakers with a pig tail to vehicle wiring. The connections at the speaker were spade connections, they were a little rusty as well. I remedied it by soldering the pigtail on the speaker side and using shrink to get it weather tight. Haven't had an issue since. I used to get no sound to very distorted sounds.
