Curious where and how you mounted it, how you routed hoses and hose sizes.

Thanks! That’s the idea I needed and the exact catch can I have minus the bracket. I have some 1” aluminum bar stock left over from my AT cooler project so I’ll fab up something tomorrow.

I have the same can, I just flipped the bracket on the can itself upside down. That took a bit of filing to get it to sit right. Then I just hung it off of the bolt for that ground wire on the firewall right above the can in THatt’s picture.

I've been running a clear snowmobile fuel line for couple years now for pcv pipe......
very very little build up......think its pure solvent vapor and anything short of a lab vapor condenser your not gonna capture much.....

unless its filtered in some medium.......then you risk clogging........

It would be much much better just to suck it out into the atmosphere.....
    a mini second exhaust pipe......

and stay away from ralph Nater........this would kill him.....

There's always been a couple drops of oil on my PCV valve whenever I’ve checked or changed it and the intake manifold end of the hose has been dry and fairly clean. That made me wonder if the vapor is condensing before it makes it to the manifold. So I figured for $20 I would do the catch can and find out. And I think catching whatever minute amount of oil might be present before it can be burned in the engine would be a good thing.

    FWIW,
I just put mine on in October and have just a little over 1k miles with it in use. Have checked the dipstick a couple times to find just the tip with oil. Dropped the can just now due to this thread. Found it had a 1/4" of chocolate brown oil, no condensation, just exhaust smelly oil. Like almost a couple table spoons full. That tells me I should be good to check it with oil changes. Poured it out, wiped clean and replaced can.

When I installed it I used the medium stainless steel that came with the kit to fill the filter puck. I just carefully pulled apart what stainless was needed to fill the puck then very carefully and cleanly cut the strands to separate. That in hopes to not have any pieces loose. Used the hose that came with the kit. It runs a little big on the PCV valve and intake connections so I used the hose clamps there and they tightened down ok.

I previously cleaned the intake from throttle body to the block this past fall and it had 1/8" or more black oily tar throughout. That's why I put the catch can in, to hopefully prevent having to do that again. Read up a good bit on it before buying, pros and cons etc. Read about risk of vacuum leaks so I made sure to get a good seal on everything, oiled the O-ring on the can a little.

Ol'Silver gives good advice. May just be OCD on my part. Don't think it will hurt if installed correctly and maintained. Good luck on your project.

First pass. I need to drop it down an inch but I ran out of stock so a trip to ACE is in my future. The inlet side hose will be 3/8” ID but the outlet size has to be 1/2 or 5/16” to accommodate the nipple on the manifold. That’s a trip to Discount Auto which as luck would have it, is between here and ACE.

Looks good. Just be sure you can unscrew and drop the can to empty it without a bunch of hassle.

Done. Not sure I’m happy with the placement and how the hoses run but it will do for now.

I love what you did....but think most of the carbon build up is from the egr love.....
the oil just tops it......making terrazzo.....

you'd think the oil would wash the carbon away.......but no carbon is a bitch......

What intake fittings are you guys using? The hose for the PCV is like 5/8 ID.
And could you plum in the CCV that is towards cylinder 1?
