2020 Taco VIN Question

Hey,
Looking at a local 2020 Tacoma and was given the VIN. When I look up the VIN I just get a generic "2020 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab 6A SB" model. This Tacoma looks like a TRD premium and was wondering if the VIN would tell you that ?

How is the truck pictured above a SR5 ?

 

So all the features on the truck were added on after build ? That truck has alot of extra features from just a standard TRD OR

 

This truck has leather. That means it has the Premium & Tech Package. It probably (also) has: Sunroof & Front facing camera. It's a TRD OffRoad, but it has every single package possible.

 

The VIN works on Toyota's website, but it doesn't have a lot of details other VIN's usually provide (plant of manufacturer for example is missing but we know it's SA because it starts with a 5).

The 2nd gen trucks you could always tell if it was an Off-Road by looking at the switches down to the left of the steering wheel. Not sure if the same can be applied to the 3rd gens or not? But this does have a locker and CC..

 

That's the build sheet from the Toyota owners site, but if you take a close look there's something odd because things that are normally there on an in-service truck aren't, like the selling dealer, order date, plant of manufacture, engine type, etc. Something is up with that VIN you posted.

 

Correct it has Sunroof, Front Camera. I figured it was the premium TRD OR but thought thats how the fine would be listed.

In some years the TRD trims are technically packages on top of the SR5 model.

@FordTaco look at other pics in the listing for equipment in the premium pkg.

 

Just remember, that's not a PRO. I remember in your post yesterday, you said you were looking at a used Pro. That truck is NOT a Pro. It has almost all the same features as the Pro, but 1 or 2 less.

Correct, different truck. The Pro was a '18 with 135,000km. This truck is a 2020 with only 36,000km.

 

Not just front camera, that's the 360° camera. I'd say premium is correct.

Ah, it's in Canada. I wonder if that's why we're not getting VIN info from most websites.
