I had glasses for distance as a kid. Reading got difficult in my forties.

Years ago I'm out on the work floor, naturally my readers were back at my desk, I'm trying to read the instruction sheet for whatever we were working on -- I just can't seem to make sense of it.

Finally I say to the kid who worked for me "you are going to have to read this, it might as well be in Spanish".

He takes the paper, glances at it, laughs and says "it is in Spanish" and flips the paper over to the English side...

Well, that went through the shop like a fire -- and I got bifocal safety glasses.

Even with my readers, sometimes I need to take a picture then zoom to read some packaging. :anonymous:

My project stalled. Assembly error and I have to back track a ways. I knew I should have stopped for the night.

The labels on some products have gotten ridiculously small with correspondingly tiny print - add in that they seem to want to use shiny paper as well.

    :censored:!

Sometimes (well, rarely...) I get up on the curve where I am really clicking right along.
I have learned that when I drop the first tool that is my signal to clean up and call it a day.

I have the 36" (?) version of that and love it!. Walkway to the house in one pass. Sidewalk at the street in two passes in lighter snow. I'll sometimes turn it to an angle and use it like a plow. It is an excellent pushing shovel.

I have axle that has to be 10mm outside the wheel for a gear to connect to. I put the other side out 10 mm, and it's about 10 steps back. Thankfully nothing is glued or I'd be in a world of hurt!

Possible, thought crossed my mine but I don’t think so. Shane said he was shooting fine the past couple of years, this is a new development this year. Correct me if I’m wrong on that Shane.

That makes me think vision change or just impatient and rushing his shot. He is at that age where patience is not a virtue. That right shift with a right handed shooter is a little difficult to diagnose without being there.

It was forever after referred to as "The Spanish Incident" -- my legacy...

We had what we called "the four great insults":
    Old
    Fat
    Bald
    Blind

I handily checked all four boxes. :pout:

Many years ago now I used to play in the local adult soccer league. One game I was playing striker and found myself being defended by a youngster that was probably 18 or 19 years old. I was in my mid 30s and carrying a little more weight than I wanted but still not doing too bad. Nowadays it would be called a "dad bod". Half way through the game I was called offsides on a play and I disagreed vocally to the referee, which did me no good except made me feel better. The young defender took the opportunity to make a few comments to me about the play to which I told him to mind his own business, I wasn't talking to him. He decided he would insult me by recognizing that I was not in top physical shape to which I told him to come see me when he was 35 and see how he was doing. He was quiet for 5 seconds or so then said, "I am sorry Sir, I did not realize your age." While it was nice to receive a bit of respect I think I was more insulted by the "Sir" comment than by the comment about my physical shape. He did however not have much to say the rest of the game....:notsure:

Stopping by with a PSA. Don't buy end yokes/slip yokes from Buyers.com. Possibly the worst casting I've seen in a good while. I'd say there's no way in hell they're rotationally balanced.

I'm thinking a few clicks left and he's going to be good. My dad I and shot (scoped) guns completely differently for whatever reason, I always assumed it was just that we held the guns differently. :notsure:
