Longtime Toyota owner, first time TacomaWorld poster

Greetings from Austin, TX - the CRUZR references my addiction to riding 26" BMX Cruisers (single speed, adult sized, bmx bikes). If any of my CapTex Cruiser brethren read this: Aloha!

Have had my current Toyota 7 years: Black 2007 4 door Tacoma SR5 PreRunner
Had an 02 4Runner for 3 or 4 years prior to the Taco.
Whole family are Toyota fans - 4 in the family (of 5, including SIL) currently and at one point before my brother got married all 4 of us had 4Runners at the same time. I'd guess we've had 10+ over the years.

Love my Tacoma and have always planned to drive it into the ground before replacing with another. At 225k+ mi, that time has just about come, so my goal here is to learn as much about the 3rd Gen Tacos as I can before purchasing this summer. Mostly which model/trim levels/colors are which, and what known issues are in a particular year/trim. Primarily urban warrior moving dogs and bikes, and I think I'd like to remove the rear seats and build a platform for dogs w/ storage under/behind.
