    Coming soon - as I learn
    Greetings All,

    I think it is time for new shocks. The challenge is what length over OEM should be purchased?
    I am leaning towards Bilstien 5100, but do not know what length to get. 1"-3" over? 0-1"?

    2014 Double Cab, Limited, 4x4, 4.0L. The PO put on a leveling/lift kit up front and air bags in back.
    Currently, from center of axle hub to bottom of fender, the distance is:
    LF = 22"
    LR = 23"
    RF = 22.25"
    RR = 23"

    My question is, what is the stock distance from hub center to fender? Have been reading the
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/review-3rd-gen-suspension-on-2nd-gen.542843/page-36
    thread, but have missed the answer if it's there.

    Also, what does "ARB bumper on stock suspension" mean?

    Should probably add: The reason for new shock shopping, is that the rear end hits hard on bumps. Feels like it is bottoming out. No weight in the back. The ride otherwise is fairly smooth. No excessive bouncing. Alignment was done in the past 5k miles. 145K miles on the clock. It has been the past month or so that the rear 'bottoming out' has been noticed.

    Thanks in advance,
    Taco On!

    There is no length selection to fret over if you're not building a custom suspension.

    ARB is a brand of bumper, adds weight to the front (as any metal bumper does), so that's considered in either spring selection or perch selection, or sometimes both.
