Hey yall I had a basic question I recently flipped my built ranger causing it to be totaled and I figured out I need to be on the better side. I wanted to buy a first gen 2001-2004 with a budget of 13,500. When is it stupid to stop buying mileage wise. I look at all frames to make sure they are clean but its the mileage that is weird to me. I just don't know the maximum mileage of these years for a 4x4 that's clean. insight on this is appreciated.

You're looking at 19-23 year old trucks. They're gonna have 200K miles on them for the most part. If they have had regular maintenance, that shouldn't be a problem. People have reported 400k miles plus on the 3.4V6.

    Welcome to the Forum !!
There is no way to know.

Buy from a Person that lives and breathes for there Tacoma 300,000 plus miles is possible

Other people can trash any vehicle in 50,000 miles.

Then what is important to you A perfect body and sparkly clean interior detailed to perfection.

All other work done at Quicky Mart auto repair.

A drive train and suspension kept in the best working condition .Maybe the Cab and bed might be 4 different colors.

Every Truck needs to be inspected and judged on it`s own merit.

I have never bought a new to me Toyota 4x4 that did not need at least a $1000.00 in parts.

    Good Luck!

Don`t forget to Ask about the Lower Ball Joints and Timing Belt if it is a 3.4.

    Happy hunting!

Just finished a 1700 mile drive from CA to TX and back. Have 225k miles on the ODO. Would do it again in a heartbeat. If kept up with basic maintenance, these trucks are workhorses.

I recently purchased on '02 TRD 5 speed XC with 270k, two owners with extensive maintenance history and it runs like a top. I used the money I saved on purchase price to rebuild all the suspension and steering with OEM or better parts. Now I have a great truck and know it's being built with quality parts.
