How come the 1st gen Tacoma prerunner 6cyl 2WD 3.4L automatic not come with them?

Did the next gens have them and why did they add them if so?

If your truck doesn't have a sway bar, or sway bar end links, they were removed by a previous owner. A lot of folks remove the sway bar when they lift the truck. The higher spring rate coils / additional preload generally shake out to about the same effect as the sway bar. The sway bar also ties the (independent) front suspension together, so most anyone who actually wheels their rig will remove the sway bar all together.

There are two distinct styles of end links for the 6 lug trucks. I do not know the break down of which specs got which style.

    4 run, 2 don't
It'll have a sway bar and sway bar end links.

As mentioned above, if you don't then that means someone removed it as it's extremely common.

Or they are referring to rear sway bars. No generation comes with them. Likely 4th gen will.

Good work thinkin' outside the box. We all assumed front...

@OP there are some aftermarket rear sway bars you can add if you really want one.. I think they are mostly custom jobs, where you get the components and then have to fab the mounts and links, etc... :notsure:
