Hope this is okay here since it’s not really a technical question.

I currently have a KC Gravity light bar pictured here. Ignore the solar panel. That’s been redone.

Anyway, I don’t like the lightbar up there so I want to move 5-6 of them onto my bumper (I can create a custom bracket) and then use the others elsewhere. Maybe one as a reverse light and one as a reverse amber light. I realize the lights have different beam patterns and will take this into account.

Looking at the individual lights I don’t see a way to mount them solo. So my question is, is this even possible or should I just sell this light bar and buy the correct lights for the setup I want?

Not familiar with those..are you wanting those exact lights or KCs in general?

My question is, is it possible to mount these individually or can they only be on a light bar? Reason is I want to take the bar off the roof, break it down to 5-6 lights and mount that on the bumper (this is easy as I’ve done it before) but I want to use the left over lights for something else - saving me having to buy more.

If that’s not possible then my other option is to just sell it and use the proceeds to buy bumper mount lights.

Gotcha, I think I misunderstood and thought they were similar to the Daylighters. Oops

Oh no. That would be easier. I might just do it anyway and just the lose the 2-3 lights I wanted to run elsewhere.

You can take anything apart. Whether or not you can reassemble it into something useful is the question.

Without knowing exactly how that's wired, I'm betting that it'll be easier and faster to sell the intact bar and start from scratch. Whether it's cheaper depends entirely on your metalworking (and wire fishing) skills and also your tolerance for "eh, that looks good enough."

Its actually really easy to take apart. Each of the lights has its own connector and there are two different styles of lights (flood vs beam) depending on the reflector pattern. Then it’s just weld on some tabs and mount. I’ve done it before, see below. I just don’t like the look of the light bar on the roof. Also below is a pic with it off. Looks so much better.

The lights when removed from each other don’t have any sort of mount for a bolt. I’m guessing one has to get an entirely new housing to do it.

I’m probably just being cheap because I don’t want to part with a $2k light bar for a small fraction of the cost.

They do have those single mount versions on a ball style mount, maybe theyd sell you some of those single mount style housings for a fair price. They sell the regular light bar style gravity faceplates for less than $30 each.
