Hi guys, hope im in the right section. I recently acquired this Tacoma and it is getting no power to the radio or the lights for the...shifter? (the thing that has the letters P, R, D, 1, 2)
Also can't see the a/c lettering at night but im not sure if that is supposed to illuminate or not.
    Please help!

Probably the shifter indicator bulb is burned out, I don’t think it’s on the same circuit as the radio.

To troubleshoot the radio you’ll just have to check on where it gets power. There are probably two fuses involved, the one that sends power from the battery, and the one that provides switched power to turn it on. In later models this is an ACC 7.5A fuse that also powers things like the cigarette lighter and maybe the dome light, but I’m not firm on that.

Since this is an aftermarket radio there are no guarantees that your wiring behind the radio isn’t just butchered and needs to be remade.

I agree that the bulbs are probably burnt out, especially if the truck was off-roaded (which I assume it was based on the radio mount above the e-brake.) The vibration killed them pretty easily once they got to the 10+ year age range

the bulbs can be purchased super cheap. You can even get packs with ALL the bulbs in that area
