Having the same issue on my 2022 Tacoma SR5 as well; stopped working overnight, although I do have brake lights still working. Checking fuses then watching this thread for possible problems/solutions.

When I ordered my Tacoma I ordered it with a towing package 2016 with a few other options. Well I started having problems, No stop lights, turn signals just on the trailer, the truck was fine. Me and two other mechanics checked fuses, relays etc:. All checked good. So I decided to bring it to Toyota Dealership, they said it was a $150.00 to put it on dialysis and see what is going on, I wanted to fix it right I agreed. A couple of hours later the Dealership call me to see if I installed the towing with after market wiring, because the wiring was not Toyota harness. I replied check the vin# you'll see it came with factory tow package. The Dealership says to contact the Dealership you ordered it from, because they could not find the schematic on this wiring harness. This dealership didn't charge me for the dialysis because they couldn't do one. So what I am going to do is order a Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector for my truck from etrailer.com and bypass this bull/sht. Maybe we need a class action law suit from Toyota, probally not worth the B/S.

The stop, turn and 4 way, all come out of the instrument cluster.
Yeah, genius move integrating it in to that huh?

I believe @caribe makaira has touch on where the relay is located?
I think it might even be part of the cluster.
I don’t remember if it is physically removable or not?

Dialysis is serious business. I feel sad for your truck. :D

I'd guess you don't have a Toyota tow package, but a dealer add on.

That would explain the questions you got and why they didn't see wiring/tow package when they ran your VIN.

Have you personally verified all of the tow package bits are installed? Because 'add ons of hitches and wiring don't get the fancy stuff like alternators and coolers.

Obviously I could be wrong. But I've not been wrong all year, so willing to take a shot.

Not a relay, the TOWING circuit is part of the Combination Meter PCB, not a part that can be removed, it's integrated. It gets stop, turn inputs then combines them when required.

I'm confused how I'd list this Class Action suit on my "Great List of TW Class Action Suits" though.... Is it for the mechanics not knowing what to do? The dealership who sold the truck? Toyota for.... Something? Someone telling you your truck requires dialysis?
