Those lights are sweet! Just wondering what did you tie into for the backlight to work on the Ditch Lights?

 

Seen a few people use an add a fuse to TAIL or Low beam

 

I'll be installing these backlit fogs this week. Just arrived today.

 

Birthday gift from my wife for “her” truck installed. Applied 3 coats of scotchguard a few days ago. These are microfiber

 

first oil change today at 5600 miles. I added a Fumoto valve and aluminum filter housing. Tires rotated.

 

Got my spacers installed on my BAMF behind the grill light mount.
With the spacers the horns can stay mounted in the factory position, before they have to be flipped around and be pressed against the radiator.
As you can see in one of my pictures the lights are still over 4" inches away from the inside of the grill.

My one main concern is pushing all the weight of the metal bracket and lights 1.5" further out will put extra strain on the mounting points.
I will definitely monitor the bolts regularly to make sure nothing breaks.

To do this I used:
3 - 1.5" long aluminum spacers with 3/4" O.D. and 5/16" I.D.
3 - 80mm long stainless steel m6 bolts, cut down to 75mm for the top 2 and 60mm for the bottom bolt
2 - m6 stainless steel fender washers to go between the spacers and radiator mounts.
Reused all the washers and the 1 m6 locking nut that came with the light mount

The lights are @Backwoods Adventure Mods 9" Prowlr lights
They haven't been wired in or aimed yet, that is a job for a much warmer day.

 

I like how you did that until I saw what you did I thought that you were going to use flat stock to move the light
mounting points out. This looks like a better solution. It looks like the bottom ( lower ) mounting bolt and upright
will take more stress but it shouldn't be much more than stock. The further out the lights are from the radiator the
better the air flow will become behind the lights. So another couple of three inches would be even better. Just
adding some additional support. You did a great job on this.

 

Installed additional bed lighting on my '22 Limited Nightshade, very easy addition and helps a bunch. Went with the Toyota OEM version, a bit pricier, then I washed it!

 

New tailgate panel from Hooke Road. Install was nearly too quick and easy. Honestly took me longer to post this than it did to install.

Happy with the product. Basically a big plastic cutting board with some cup holders. No more corrugated FRP knee pain or uncomfortable seat.

Does the nightshade trim come with “Pro” tail lights?

 

What steps do you have? Are you happy with them?
