I have a 2015 pre runner, 86k miles. Was on my way to the airport and randomly the tsc and LSD lights came on. Shut off my truck when I got there, started up when I left, lights were gone. Fast forward to the drive home and my radio screen goes black, Toyota startup sequence begins and then it just resumes playing my podcast. All while just driving along. Got to work today and shut off my truck and locked it like normal. Headlights should auto shutoff as the key is off and the door opens. Apparently they didn’t and I just don’t notice in my hurry and my battery is dead when I go to leave. These events all happened within 24-36 hours of one another so it’s leaving me to suspect an electrical issue. The only thing not oem as far as electronics is a 3rd brake light strip between the tailgate and rear bumper. The LED’s have began to go out in one section, possibly a short, possibly crappy LED’s. Anyone else experience anything like this or have any possible theories? Ill start by eliminating the LED strip and taking it to Toyota.

Check all your connectors are seated on the Body control unit junction box. All the features you mention are interconnected to the JB and the body control unit inside it. ,maybe a connector isnt snapped and locked in ......that junction box module handles distribution of all lighting, doors, sensors and locks, even has the brake discretes and parking brake and other things that also go to radio as well as lighting control sequence features you mentioned also has distribution for things like SPD and NSW (neutral safety) and signal wire routing for systems like ABS and Trac...... its a very central junction box with distribution of many ins and outs for many systems and definitely for each system you mentioned and more

the the JB box that is behind the coin tray and has the fuses in to, there are connectors on both the front and back to the JB box and the BCM is internal to that. just check all the connectors on the JB itself, dont remove and go deeper yet

Also, do yourself a favor, Unhook the battery first (while your cleaning terminals like #2 post recommends (thumbs up on that idea too) but please unplug the battery first, then check each connector by giving a slight pull without pressing the release tab then release it look inside the J side (female plug for any foriegn objects or pins issues like a recessed pin and chen the P side too the side you pulled out for any recessed pins, then plug each plug back in firmly and listen fo the click of the locking tab check then one by one. also its pretty easy to pull the lower dash panel and leave it hang down a bit while inspecting the JB/fuse panel..... just beed a 10mm socket for the two bolts on each side ... right one is under a snap tab remove bolts pull the snaps gently at the other various points, no need to unattach hood release or TPMS reset, but you might want to unsnap the switches and the mirror adjust to be able to let the panel hang lower so you can acess the plugs on front and back of the JB/fuse panel and inspect and reseat them
