Wonder why yours would be longer.

My dipstick is too long. Quite a few have said that over the years. Hehehe. No seriously I don’t think I have the right dipstick if it’s almost an inch longer. Yeah this thread could go in the gutter fast.

Anyone have a 4 cyl they’d be willing to measure?

Now we need to establish if both rulers are the same length.

I’m just going to put 6.2 in and scribe the stick where the new level is.

Maybe they meant 3” shorter than a 6 cyl stick.

That’s why I asked someone to measure. Don’t need a guess. Thanks for your time. I’m going to swing by the dealer tomorrow and compare sticks. Yep even that didn’t sound good.

I usually add oil to the full mark.
Start the truck and then recheck the stick.
It’s usually lower after you start the truck. (Oil fills filter)
    Refill to full mark.

Never really thought about it too much.
    I figured full was full?:notsure:

Most engines like to show high after sitting for hours.

This is why most suggest checking after 5 minutes, not 3 hours.

I let it sit for a min after starting the truck.
    Maybe 5 mins.
Long enough to clean up the mess and check for leaks.

Check the stamped part # on the dipstick. 3.5 should have 0P060 at the top

The 4.0 is famous for being exactly 5.0 Liters up here, same with the Nissan V6 4.0. Both engines we'd dump in 5 liters and barely need to check.

The 3.5 is a little more touchy. Usually 6.2, but it can be 6.4 or more if you wait half an hour.

Scuff the end of the dipstick with some emery cloth and it will be easier to read

I see your swartz is as big as mine!

Mine (2022 v6) measured 31" from tip to the stop collar that seats against the tube.
