So I basically have this. I forget if it has drain holes at the bottom. But obviously they all claim to. As well as claiming to prevent corrosion, noise, etc.

thing is, Tactilian is like $30-60,
while what I got and installed was ~$7 on Amazon, simply because Tactilian was out of stock of anything they had in color black.

But now they're back in stock.

Reason for install was relocating the plate to tailgate for clearance. And steel bumper did not come with a plate holder.

    ----

Is it worth taking things back apart, just to swap out from a $7 cheapie Amazon silicone, to Tactilian? Why/what is the difference to justify the work (and price)?

I can think of only 3 reasons.
    1. they look better
    2. probably lifetime warranty
    3. rubber coverage extends OVER the plate holes, with additional hardware, to hopefully squish the plate snug with bolts, but not too tight

^this is a problem with my Amazon skin. The bolt heads dig straight into the plate and when tightened trying to get the silicone flush to the tailgate, actually starts bending into the holes area deforming the license plate...

setup is currently similar to this pic off TW:

Get a couple plastic or stainless washers to put between the head of the bolt and the plate. I have a similar setup with the cheapo Amazon (in my case using LED plate light/bolts), no issues.
