Rechargeable flashlight

This guy stays in my pocket. Not a fan of leaving certain gear in the truck that's sensitive to extreme temps (batteries).

 

I keep a

Milwaukee M18 search, red lithium headlamp, and red lithium flashlight in my truck. Just charge it every so often. Works great

 

Used to carry a 4 D cell mag-lite in my younger days for my job. It was quite the go to tool back then.

 

Fenix pd36r and an Olight perun 2. More than enough light out of either of them for any task I can think of.

 

I use an Olight S2R baton for EDC. I've been using it for several years in an industrial environment and it has been great. It charges off a USB cable so you can charge it off in the truck. The moonlight setting and the magnetic base are great! For example you can stick it to the inside of the hood to check you oil while keeping your hands free and preserving your night vision. The high setting is very bright but it isn't a super tight spot so long range is somewhat limited compared to a more tactical oriented light. I does get warm on the turbo setting.
I also have a streamlight polystinger. It is a great light with serious throw and is rated for working in flammable vapor environments which may or may not matter to you. It has superior heat management compared to the Olight. It has a 120v charger mount and clips into it securely. It's low setting is far too bright to use as a task light and expect to be able to preserve any night vision.
Both are good lights, streamlight is pro quality, Olight is more tacticool but the added functionality and pocket size makes it worth it to. Both have remarkably good battery life. Also both have strobe settings.
FYI I work for the Railroad, almost exclusively at night in the middle of nowhere and use my lights constantly.

A Fenix PD36R is part of my EDC. It's not in the truck per se but it's always clipped to my pocket.

 

For $309.00 that would stay in my pocket too.

 

I’ve been looking at a NEBO. Anyone have experience with these?

I've got the NEEBO torchy. Great little light and fits in the palm of my hand. Can clip to the brim of a hat and also has a magnetic base. Do recommend for a compact bright usb rechargeable light.

The nebo doesn’t last long probably not a year I use to try and use them at work they just don’t last get glitchy.

 

That's unfortunate. Looks like a nifty little light for the price. Almost bought it.

 

I don’t need another flashlight but every time one of these threads come up I see some lights I feel like I need. Yes am a flashlight nerd. Probably going to end up buying the one @Road_Warrior posted.

 

I’ve had this one a year and it’s worked flawlessly. Everyday at work. Charge box is great. It gets used!!

Buy once cry once!

I use Modlite and Surefire at work and that carried over to off-duty. I still won't hesitate to use some of the made in China stuff like Streamlight and Fenix for less important lighting.

 

I’m glad you like that one! I can’t recommend it enough. It’s designed flawlessly and I’m shocked their lights aren’t more expensive. I have several O lights and I’ll keep buying them whenever the need arises for another light. I keep a bunch of them around the house and bring a couple with me on all my trips.

 

4D cell mag lite is highly recommended + its reasonably priced

 

someone already mentioned it, but I use Streamlight for work. Charge last a long time, they are durable and water resistant. Their lights have a lot of charging options as well.

 

Here is what I have been looking for and seem to be coming up dry:
1. Rechargeable
2. Compact (smaller than hand).
3. Able to focus beam.
4. As many lumens as possible. BRIGHT
5 $70 or less

No proprietary battery where a replacement ends up costing as much as the $&@# flashlight.
