Convert 2.7L to 3.4L. What's it take?

    do i have to only change engine/trans, engine harness?? or will instrument harness need to be changed as well?

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    There are many swap threads do some research.The more you know the more detailed questions you can ask.

    The 4th ECM plug needs to be re pinned to match the cab harness or you can change the complete harness

    The ECM also needs to match the engine harness.

    The frame perches need moved as well new flywheel and clutch .

    There are many other little things as well such as engine brackets .

    IIRC, the motor mounts are different as well so you’ll need to have a donor truck to chop and weld or custom fab some. It’s a much more expensive project than it looks like at first.

    Just just turbo your 2.7L. It’ll cost less, be less work and be faster than a 3.4L with a s/c & 2.2 pulley.

    so what differs in the perchs? just ask cause i looked up frames and only difference i can find is one is 161single cab and 171 for extended

    The length of the engines and the position of the engine mounts.

    Cause your frame perches to be different between engines.

    The frame perches are what your engine mounts bolt to if you were not sure.
