Can anybody confirm how tight/seated this little "nut" needs to be? Most youtube videos show people just using their hands to snap it in, but to me seems pretty flimsy and prone to falling off. Should i push it down with a screw driver significantly down?

    Thanks

Funny you should post this I did mine a few weeks ago and that thing seemed sketchy as shit no matter how hard I pushed it on. I just stopped at the hardware store 15 minutes ago to buy a handful of those because I was walking by my tailgate yesterday as I hit the lock and I saw the handle move. I grabbed it and it wasn't locked. That little b@stard popped off. I'm going to make sure it can't come off this time lol. I'll definately be using a screwdriver or something of that nature

Bought some of the same speed nuts but if I'm not comfortable with it this time I'm going to do something different. I've used speed nuts a million times to me that post seems a bit short for the application

BD2D369A-248B-4D38-9B12-47C904A68BE2.jpg I just went outside and fixed it. Fished the old one out of the tailgate and put on the one I bought at ace hardware. Seems to hold a lot better I couldn’t pull it off. I think it was 45 cents. You can see in the crappy pic that the new one(top) has more aggressive and pointy teeth vs the supplied one (bottom). I think it will do the trick time will tell

I had to use a socket to push it in. Have not had any issue with it coming off. It is in there pretty tight.
