I just really really think the whole thing is BS. They're a "private entity" when it's advantageous to them yet they have the force of government behind them (tickets and blocked registration) .
Look at how many people in one day on this thread have experienced the same thing. Id bet money they do this on the regular and profit greatly from people who aren't paying attention or can't be bothered.
I dislike thieves and criminals and I don't make exception for white collars or pseudo governmental bureaucracies.

This thing is big and weighty and legit.
I guess the big metal ball instead of a monkey fist knot defeats one of the purposes of a soft shackle but for $30 I'm not sorry.

 

I had some Amazon soft shackles in my cart for a while but chickened out... Interested to see how it works for you

 

Used my winch with soft shackles three times since this last snow storm pulling people out so now that I got a new piece of gear I probably won't get to use it for years.

Somehow my old house was the only one in the area without an HOA and it was because they had reached some term/financial limit and voted to end it entirely. What a blessing lol
