Nice! Congrats! Interested to hear your thoughts about it after you put some seat time in. Shoot, what are your thoughts after 16 miles?

Thanks Charlie can’t wait to ride this thing! Initial thoughts are it feels light and nimble also a comfortable riding position.

She likes the bike and was ok with me going for it. But she’s definitely more nervous when I’m out riding. I know that I’m very fortunate and especially to have an amazing wife that supports me and my passions.

So instead of buying an $1100 slip on exhaust, or a $700 awning for my truck, I think I've decided to get a Garmin Zumo XT. Anyone have any experience with them?

Also, im going to copy/make a riser mount, because paying $90 for this is insane

Had my Zumo XT for about 2 years now. Best Garmin so far in terms of screen brightness, particularly when the sun is over your shoulder and on the screen. Previous Zumo would be so washed out it was useless. XT remains visible even at less than 100% brightness. Make sure to keep firmware and maps updated. You might find using a stylus is better sometimes when entering addresses and such. PM me if you have trouble or need help.

I was going to wait for a sale (next monday is MLk), but Amazon price is better than everywhere I've found. I will also eventually get a truck mount so i can swap between vehicles.

Actually i do have one question. If I download a gpx file, will it import as a turn by turn? Or can it be converted?

I create my gpx files in Basecamp on my laptop and import them all the time. It "should" come over turn by turn. That being said, after importing run the route in the XT and look it over. Once in a while it will have slight differences. Can't explain why but it does happen. One possibility is if the map the file was created on doesn’t perfectly match the map set in the XT

Apple car play is essentially screen mirror. It works fine for on roads, but if im out in the woods with no service, and i didnt presave offline maps, then im stuck. I also suck with preplanning routes. So many uncontrolled variables.

    A dedicated gps can help

    Good day,

Got my ECU back Saturday 1pm. Moore Mafia removed the top speed limiter, O2 sensor, pair valve and changed the fan temps, fuel and timing maps, and disabled the fuel cut off. I unplugged the O2 and servo.

What a difference. The biggest was how smooth the power is now. Now on and off the throttle is so smooth, it is huge difference in cornering. Before the secondary plates would shut down the fuel when off the throttle and the bike would jerk.

I highly recommend them if only for the improvement in drive ability. The HP gain is nice too.

Got out today for about 70 miles, possible snow forecast for overnight and early morning means the truck probably goes to work. Kicked ass on scooping up some more mural pictures. One week in and I've got enough for finisher's status already. Here's a few highlights from today.

I have a closer version of this where my flag number is clearly visible but only a portion of the mural is in the pic.

Notice how they have the waitress hand positioned so that when they lean the snow shovel there it looks like she's holding it.

I’ve heard some good things about the Garmin Zumo XT. A lot of the bMW guys who weren’t satisfied with the BMW Garmin Navigator VI. I’ve already had to send one navigator VI back to to Garmin.

Question. Do you ever take pictures without the sign in them when you find a really cool mural?

I have. On one of the FJR forums they do a calendar as a fundraiser each year to help pay for forum expenses. Users can submit 2 photos and members vote to see who makes the cut. I've submitted a couple photos of my bike with a mural. Just missed out on this year but already scouting locations for next year.
