Could be. I'm fairly confident after watching some YouTube videos that the u joints need replaced.

I'll swap those out this weekend, and see what that does.

The toyota dealership quoted me 1200 for a pinion bearing replacement.

I've read they usually wanna swap out the entire drive line cuz it's easier than fooling with the joints/bearings.

    F-that mess.

Be aware of Moog u joints. Try for Spicer or OEM. I went Moog and had to replace them a year later. Also, note that the yokes are tapered, and don't play nice with the typical c-clamp style u joint press kits. The u joints in your double cardan joint are not serviceable (they are but without a lengthy explanation, they aren't)- so if those are toast, you need to take the drive shaft to a shop for them to cut it out and replace it. Similar for the carrier bearing- Spicer or OEM only, otherwise you'll be doing it twice. There is sticky for the carrier bearing- follow the torque procedure carefully for the stake nut.

My experience with ujoint, they don't make noise. They cause vibration, felt through the entire truck at a certain speed.

    Duly noted.

I only put about 3k on it per year now. Plan is to buy a semi-new 4th gen whenever they work the kinks out.

Engine sounds great. Could use a new valve cover gasket but nothing too bad. No codes whatsoever on the computer check.

I put a new plug on her during the last oil change and it quit dripping in my driveway.

Would swap out the entire driveline myself if it'll get me another 50k without thinking twice.

I do love that truck tho, what a beast. Maybe I'll rebuild it and put classic plates on it, haha.

It's got that too. You can feel it from the rear end to the front.

Like sitting on a washing machine while you drive.

I know a good/honest/seasoned mechanic that also suggested a pinion bearing.

But at the same time, he was like wtf when he drove it.

Sorry for the sporadic responses. I'm new here.
