I cant say for sure, but ive been the target of a couple side swipes over the past five years and havent done anything registry wise. Im sure if its required the insurance companies will report. they seem pretty interconnected. One time was with a police report, the other not. That has never even crossed my mind, not saying im right or not.

Yes. Pick up an accident report at your local police station. Fill it out and make 3 copies. Drop one off at the police station of the town where the accident occurred, one goes to the registry, one goes to your insurance company, and keep the original for your personal records.

Thanks. I'll add it to my "mission list" for today. Ignore what appeared here previously. The RMV does have an on line form.

What are you guys getting for mileage out if your belts? I changed my stock one at 90K and it was still in decent shape. The one I have now is something from Advance and is at about 70K and is starting to crack. I’ll have to change it during the next decent weather day.

Original was around 110K/10 years. Changed preemptively with a Bando..figured I was already in there doing plugs and it was getting colder out, better to do it now before it snaps and I have to do it the coldest day of the year.

Depends - my belt has been splashed with a lot of dirt. Woods takes years off the truck, I'll probably do mine at 75K pre-emptively.

PS @crashngiggles how is traffic on the pike going through Springfield in the AM? Gotta get out bit north of Albany on Thursday AM, not sure if that's going to be a disaster or not.

Insurance estimate for the repair is $5,000.00. About $1,000.00 parts the rest is labor and paint supplies.

I'll know in a bit if I'll be able to drive it until the parts are in or if I'm stuck in the Rent A Wreck the entire time.

Its not bad at all sir. go from the Ludlow Exit to the west Springfield exit every morning without any issues. Most issues are going on the MA Pike going East towards Boston in the morning and West in the afternoon.

Bad news and good news on the Tacoma front. Bad news is that I'll be in this dreadful Hyundai Accent for another week or so. Good news is that I'll only be in the dreadful Hyundai Accent for another week or so.

Parts have been ordered and strip down of the damaged parts has begun. Body guy expects no delays on getting the parts in. Truck should be done by the end of next week.

All in all lemonade out of lemons. I am rooting for smooth sailing during the repair with no delays and no supply chain issues.

That’s pretty good, just had a repair done in October, but the wait to get in the shop was a couple months. Truck was drivable though

I always use this shop, so the owner knows me. My friend who referred me to the shop uses it ALOT and that helps too. Before he saw the truck, the shop owner thought it could be a month before he could schedule me in. Since there are no major parts needed and nothing is backordered, he's pushing me up on the schedule.

I just have to remember to bring a bottle of his favorite Irish Whiskey with me when I pick the truck up. ;)

having friends in the shop business helps, i used to have a connection like that. However, my last shop experience was great with a new place

In addition to the other features, the Hyundai either gets worse mileage than my Tacoma or has a gas tank smaller than my snowblower.
