    Hello everyone.

I've been thinking of getting some steel wheels for my winter tires after having a recent ball joint incident that made a healthy gouge in one of the stock alloys. I had previously painted the wheels that are on it now and with the time it would take to touch up the 3 existing and paint a new alloy wheel it seems like it would be worth just getting a set of steelies.

I'm running 4runner front brakes and the caliper only clears the current wheels by about 3/16", so I want to get something I know will fit. I saw in the sticky thread that the specs on the alloy wheels are 17x7.5 +30 but I'm not sure if a steel wheel might have different geometry.

    Also looking for brand recommendations.

Probably going to run these A/T3s in 255/75/17 on them until they wear out.

    Thanks everyone

Will, did you get any joy from the group? I want to make the switch from alloys to steel and have heard a lot of conflicting information about what will fit and what will not. I am looking for the right fit in a 17 x 7.5-9 to run 285x70x17 tires for overlanding.
