i have thought of it. i know his wife drives him nuts at times-- being retired, they tend to get on each others nerves time to time, as marriage goes.

he does a lot through the community, his son, and some of the older friends/relatives he's got in the area. he hunts/fishes with the seasons, so he stays somewhat busy for a retired guy.

i don't have any problem shooting the breeze with him from time to time, i tend to find a reason to be outside most weekends it's above 50 degrees, so if he's out doing something, we'll usually talk. i just don't involve him in my projects so much, a lot of it having to do with me spending all week plotting/planning/organizing at work, i intentionally don't organize my weekends until i figure out what i feel motivated enough to do, and rarely does it have a definite plan!

The judge is the person who decides whether the excuse request is granted but not the clerk at my county. The explanation above was already tried and denied by the judge. :notsure:

what state do you live in?

Just what judge decides we have several sitting on the bench.

    It has worked for me!

    Good morning folks :hattip:

Re poll: I used to be a huge NFL fan. The heyday of the Patriots was amazing to watch…. But year after year, it seems there’s so many thing wrong with the league. Starting with the refereeing all the way through their newfound crusade against racism… Nothing seems authentic and genuine about any of it.

    Goodmorning crew :pccoffee:
Not much into watching sports. A older toolmaker once told me back in the early 90's (regarding gis trade and earnings in general)that things seem to have gotten out of hand, basically said he made more money in the 70's than then, and you didn't hear about sports guys earning 7 million a year contracts, and get a public service job like mail carrier was more of a honor. I can relate a little bit there's people who would complain about a $300.00 a month electric utility bill but turn around and spend 5k for season tickets college football.
    Morning meeting time.
Lost a hunting buddy this week. He was only 50 yrs, wish I had taken time to visit him when he was here this past November :pout:

Yeah he was a good dude. I never had anyone take me hunting much as a kid so didn't even know how to field dress a deer. He was was with the first three or four that I took and showed me the first time then coach me a little on the second one. Kind of get a bond with someone like that...I was in my 40's.
On way home from family vacation from Florida one year I thought his place in Louisiana be a good stop point on our way home :) I call him out of the blue and he said SURE! We all went out to dinner and had a good time. I know mid last year I call just to visit and he was going through divorce. I know that can be difficult time and wonder if that didn't play a part but I have no idea of what happened.

Our old 2 axis knee mill purchased in 1995 has laid down on us. It’s worn out but the computer won’t control anything.

I think we are going to get a new mill like Bridgeport EZ track. I'm not sure what brand but encouraging the new young man to get what we need and helping him do paperwork to justify cost.

Its hard to see the tail flash in the photos but it looks like one of ours. It's a C-17.

My rant on college/universities: I believe it started about 100 years ago when our troops returned from WW1 but more pronounced on the return from WW2/Korea and hit the job market in mass. These young men noticed that the people that were making more money attended college so they falsely equated college = more money. Now these young men were having families and passing this bad information along to their children who then had a difficult decision to make on whether or not they were going to go to college and for a time, it was good. Government subsidies to the college basically inflated the tuition costs because it was a guaranteed payment which in turn was passed to the student furthering their debt with those higher tuition costs. We've lost sight of what originally drove the college graduates to make more money and that was passion. A passion for the craft. It was them being passionate about their career paths and wanted to further their understanding and education about their chosen career. Now compare two equal players, one has passion and driven to success while the other is just going through the motions. Who of the two is going to climb the ladder higher and faster and ultimately earn more in the long run? It seems like now it feels like society has proclaimed that you 'have' to go to college to get a good career and earn enough to make a living all while saddled with huge debt to the college/banks/whoever and working your 9-5 for years to pay off that debt while just existing in this 'system'. Maybe I'm rambling a bit but that's just what I see. Bottom line: College doesn't equal passion, passion drives progression either in education or career.

Mig welded the nut since it’s steel and the rest is stainless. Used a stainless rod on the rest.
