    Only 20 years away!

Still a long way to go but this is really exciting progress.

I think once this data is shared with world scientists we will see progress faster then that.

Maybe, we’re definitely in the realm where each little incremental improvement takes a lot of effort, but large breakthroughs are still possible.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I am hoping this will somehow prolong the use of internal combustion engines. I love turning wrenches and hate to see cash for clunkers destroying awesome vehicles. Great news in the end and we should see significant acceleration with our partners.

There are a number of youtube videos explaining fusion reactions and after watching them I'm still pessimistic about fusion coming anytime soon. The basic reaction of H + H + pressure = He + energy sounds great, but there is a pesky neutron released that makes things radioactive. There are ways around that problem, but I ain't holding my breath.

I will continue using the big fusion generator in the sky to power my house though. Solar panels and a storage battery are literally a fusion powered energy machine that the average guy can install on his house. No laws of physics are broken and it's a proven and safe technology.

In small scale it's safe, but ask the little birdies how safe the big glass fields are. Also, look at what a large array does to the ambient temps, and migration habits of animals like Pronghorn Antelope. For all the green screaming done about saving animals and habitats; they sure don't care about bothering them or killing them with solar arrays and wind turbines.

Ask the little birdies how safe oil, gas, and coal production is. Ask the little birdies how safe global warming is. Your arguments have some value, but compare the mountain of damage from fossil fuels to the mole hill from renewables is not green washing. It is just being observant of the relative damage caused.

Also, many who don't give a flying fuck about the environment care a LOT about money. Renewables are edging out fossil fuels simply because they are cheaper. I mean I care about the environment and money and in my case solar make a ton of sense on both fronts. My payback will be 7-8 years, with a 25 year warrantee and a 30 year useful life. I think the reality of renewables is summed up in this cartoon.

I'd like for fusion to be a thing, but even a quick search shows there are a lot of problems to solve before it will be viable. The latest announcement of a net gain in a fusion experiment is 30+ years in the making. That's a big deal, but keep it in perspective. They should keep working on fusion, but I sure ain't holding my breath either.

Wind farms kill more raptors than any oil/gas plants. So much so that they aren't allowed to be built where condors live as they'd pose and extinction threat.

"Renewables" aren't consistent, backed by natural gas for stability, and they aren't cheaper. They are subsidized right now, but energy costs will skyrocket once it is mandated because then they won't have to subsidize it to try and pretend to have a competitive price point.

As for the alarmist points, they are still based off old inaccurate models because they fit the narrative and agenda. Look at the old predictions of the alarmists. Ever since 1912 they've been saying the next decade would be the great catastrophe of man caused climate abuse. They've been wrong, hilariously wrong, for over a century.

The whole greenhouse gas theory stems from experiments conducted in terrariums that were completely enclosed environments, and at a scale that is way way smaller than reality. The compounds dissipate far more than those experiments showed because we don't live in a tight, confined box. The atmosphere is leaky and it dissipates the greenhouse gasses far better than they ever imagined.

Top that off with the fact that they've recently learned the atmosphere is so much bigger than they thought. Only recently they've found that the atmosphere on the moon, thin as it is, isn't actually the moon's. It's the Earth's. That means their 10 gallon tank size used for predictions needed to be more like an Olympic size pool. The doom projections crumble with the proper parameters applied.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make me a troll. You honestly need to look into the data they use for their models. It's all flawed. Over the last 70 years, do you know what nation has had their predictions turn out to be the closest to actual reality? They've all been theorizing and predicting, but do you know who got it the closest decade after decade?

Russia. They didn't predict the doom and gloom that the U.S.A. did and has forever. Their predictions were very close to what has happened over the last half century. Why would that be? They were all working from the same data, all have great scientists, so why would there be such glaring differences in predictions? Maybe a different agenda was at play because the Russian guberment already has complete control of everything. They don't need to lie to their citizenry to try and get them to vote away their rights and freedoms, because they have none. Lying about the climate models benefits them nothing. They can already tell you what to drive, where you can and can't go, when you can and can't go, what you're allowed to say, etc. No need to trick the sheep into supporting you when you have consolidated all the power in a centralized government.

What happens to solar panels after their 20-25 year life span ? How much fossil fuel does it take to make solar panels ? How many toxic compounds are in solar panels ? Currently fighting a 300 acre industrial solar facility that will possibly be going in right out my front window on prime farm land
I also believe electric cars are a joke . Personally knew 2 people that have died in Tesla fires :(
The planet is fine it’s the people that are fucked up . Just my opinion ;)

This parts at least correct, the planet didnt't give a shit about the dinos and doesn't care what happens with us humans either. It'll be just fine once we kill ourselves off.

My guess is that the solar panels themselves are relatively green when compared to most other energy sources, but selenium leeching from them into groundwater might end up being an issue.
That being said, to replace productive farmland with a solar farm is incredibly misguided. We shouldn't convert a single square foot of productive land to solar until every rooftop is covered with solar. (assuming we can come up with a much better way to store the electricity that is generated from solar)

Capitalism would say that land should be used for the highest return possible. That could be farming, housing, solar, etc. Assuming the land owner follows all of the regulations why shouldn't they install solar if they want? In my neck of the woods there are literally millions of acres of land that grow nothing but grasshoppers and weeds. So, realistically farmland is competing with desert land and the math is going to lean toward putting solar in places where there isn't already something there. Will some farmers choose to install solar, sure but who gives a fuck? I call that capitalism and free enterprise.

Now to stay on topic of this thread, since my last post I've come across this description of how much energy it took to get "FUSION!" The Too Long Didn't Watch is $400 of energy went in and at best $40 came out. If you squint just right and use funky accounting they got more out than they put in. I'm not holding my breath on fusion power and will continue to use the God given fusion reactor in the sky and my solar panels to run my house.
