Quite a few of the items posted / discussed / linked earlier in this thread can get somebody badly injured or killed if they fail in an actual off-road recovery scenario. The $65 non-rated Amazon specials can tear right out of the frame if used in more intensive/difficult recoveries. The flying D-rings & remains of the mounting plates will shatter or punch holes in anything in their way as they shoot off at high speed. People occasionally die this way:

The home-built weld-up stuff might do better than expected but I wouldn't trust it unless I had extensively load-tested it under controlled conditions, well in advance of actually needing it in a way-off-road / outback recovery situation.

There's no problem if you want to have cheap shackles for looks, mayyyyybe possibly for "light duty" easy more or less straight-line recoveries of stock Tacos with empty beds (not loaded w/ cargo etc) on more or less level, flat terrain. So long as people understand the limitations of what they're buying/installing.

ARB makes a properly-engineered and load-rated Taco recovery point (8 tons.) It's very expensive, probably overpriced, but it's what the market will bear for a piece of metal that will let you pull an overweight 6400 lb overland-rig Taco out of a steep off-angle-stuck situation with relatively low chance of damage to vehicle, or injury to bystanders.

I bought one -- it weighs 27 pounds, without the mounting hardware. There's a reason for all that weight, it's the quantity of steel required to get the job safely and properly done.

but it’s cheaper to hot glue a coffee cup handle to the bumper cover and paint it red
