A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.

It's a 2.5 , unless you have one of these. Hi Bill. :fistbump:

Well.... Just in case they might read this:  Illuminate/backlight ALL of the switches, dials, selectors, power mirror controls, 4WD dial: the glove compartment and the console. My 1985 Buick I had and my 1998 Volvo S70 GLT SE (still have it): EVERYTHING is lighted! >Seven< power window switches in my truck: only ONE is lighted and only ONE is auto-down on a $32,000 vehicle! ($32,000.25 with all of these bulbs.) Unacceptable. I initially assumed they were all burned out and needed new bulbs. Nope! Oh yeah: truck bed light? Nope! underhood light? Nuh-ah :smack:

They do have a light in the console for the transmission selector.... so that's something.... Except no one ever looks at it because it has a twin-brother up on the speedo dial. (Mine burned out and I didn't notice it for four months.)

    Manual please.
I want to actively drive my truck.
And if I break my left leg again, I'll clutch with my right like last time.

I stand corrected. 2.5 it is. :hattip:

Glad too, as I strongly dislike red dash lights. :D

To me: a manual transmission Tacoma is a "Flagship Product". You never drop it from your brand offerings even if you only get few requests for it: Filson Mackinaw Blankets and the Mackinaw Cruiser; Mustang 5.0L/302; (and the f150 5.0); LL Bean Boots; Orvis Fly Rods. Toyota Land Cruiser. (NLA U.S.A.): Icon products.

    The mustang had a 4.6 from 96-10.

I have never thought of flagship anything when discussing the Tacoma, maybe the LC but the Tacoma is a very good light duty truck.

I did a double-take, this is very, very close to a 2nd gen 2.5 tacoma. Down to the black roof seams, shark antenna, etc. Just needs a chrome bumper for near a perfect match.

Say goodbye to the naturally aspirated engine. It’s coming. The reliability these trucks have always been known for may be out the window when this comes.

Humor is an important part of my health plan.

But I don't eat in my vehicles. Ok to sit inside?

We don't have any In & Out stores. But 5 Guys is pretty solid.

Yes, and glad they got rid of the horizontal gap (mouth looking slot) on the Tundra.

Toyota trucks had an available turbo 4 cylinder from 1985-1996. Well received. Turbo technology has only gotten better since then.

Ok, I'll bite on this thread. Hell, it's Friday now so I might as well...

I'm looking forward to a few major changes:
Turbo - I've owned a bunch of turbo vehicles and the low-end torque is desperately needed in this truck. Especially since I live in a very hilly area. I know this is unpopular around here, but modern turbo engines are awesome. (Not to mention better MPG) You're not getting the same low-end torque without big displacement which ain't gonna happen.
Modern transmission - I think we all agree on this!
Better seating position - My "seat jackers" help but it still sucks.
Coil springs - I'm not overlanding or carrying super heavy loads in my truck, so I'm looking forward to better ride quality.
More room for suspension/tire upgrades - Cab mount chops and cutting up trim to fit real off-road tires is an absolute joke.

I'm betting Toyota is addressing all of those things with the new truck so I expect to buy one in the second year of availability after they've worked out some bugs. Yes, it will might be ugly at first but I initially thought the 3rd Gen was ugly, and here I am driving one.

And I'm also looking forward to lots of people hating the 4th Gen so I can sell my 2022 for lots of money! :D

One thing that consistently confuses me... Tacoma owners want all the old tech because "reliability" and "maintenance" but complain about drum brakes?

Everyone talking about 100+ year old antiquated turbos... Meanwhile i'm still waiting on Toyota to join the rest of us in 2023 and announce an 100% BEV Truck that gets 700hp+ and 70 MPGe+ like the F150 lightning and the new electric Silverado..... The future is now old men, anything sub 400 HP and sub 40 MPG is now trash.

That’s nice, I want another cup holder up high left of steering wheel like certain model Lexus and a V8 engine with tuned exhaust. Nothing sounds better than V8, it’s American as apple pie.

I'm with you, but in a vehicle that may go out in the boonies, I'd rather see a PHEV along the lines of the Chevy Volt with a battery charged by a gasoline generator when the battery runs low; zero gasoline use for the first 80km's of driving, but no range anxiety on longer trips. Electric motors with 100% torque from 1RPM, and instantaneous torque vectoring. Hook me up...or plug me in! Some people still are stuck on ICE only..."From my cold, dead, hands"

Bring back the 1st gen size, sell enough electric vehicles in the other line ups, to be able to make a 4 cylinder manual transmission single cab truck.
