Marketing. Buzz words like tactical. Color. Angles. You would be surprised how many sheepeoples don't think for themselves anymore. Most attend YouTube university and think they know something.

aite, you’re right. I’m constantly brainstorming ideas on how to make supplemental income and sell this crap…I mean stuff as a vendor, but can’t get myself to sling this shit.

The fact that the marketing images have the gas struts on upside down doesn't instill much confidence.

I don’t usually do it, but if I see y’all out there with this cap, I’m going to tease you for poor choices…

So the owner of BYND4x4 just got back to me. Now knowing what I know, I'm tempted to bluntly ask why their cap is identical to ones sold on Alibaba if they're claiming that they are American engineered blah blah blah.

Also their website warranty seems like a total cop-out, even though they claim a lifetime warranty on products. I'm sure leaks, rust and strut failure would fall under what they claim to be normal wear and tear.

I really want to start marketing mundane things as tactical just to see if it catches on with the military LARPing wannabes. Tactical underwear? Tactical #2 Pencil? Tactical tissues? The possibilities are endless.

It probably is American engineered, designed whatever but made in China with cheap materials. I like how those little pop up banners on the website that show when one is sold is the same two or three every time you go to the site

I’m on the other team. Team Bad Choices. I’ll have my wife Venmo $20 and send a MalvolioBuilt Vinyl Sticker toward @TS4x4 ’s purchase if he gets it.

You have to rock the sticker though.

    DO IT.

I'd like a MalvolioBuilt sticker! Can I still place it on my RSI cap?

haha..c'mon...I didn't think anyone would think I meant the camper :p

Yup, i was. A couple hundred more and you get a cap that looks better (in my opinion), lighter and has solid reputation

Also, i should mention that i was joking about judging anyone, at least out loud if they bought this.

So the seller got back to me. Kinda gave me a non answer. I guess take it as you will, but I'm still not paying 3k for that cap. He seems perfectly nice and polite, but he's also trying to sell me a product. I do think it's funny how he brought up Baja Designs knockoffs. Based on the pictures on BYND4x4s website the cap doesn't look any better than what's on alibaba. With Bajas there's a clear (pun intended) visible difference between the real thing and knock offs.
He also skirts around the fact that he is in fact a drop shipper, by stating that they would work to resolve any shipping issues.

I'll be sticking with my original plan, the AluCab Explorer.

    Anyway, here's the message:
    Screenshot_20230113_065954_Email.jpg

    And my original inquiry:

    Screenshot_20230113_070804_Email.jpg

Also for 20 bucks a pop should we order some of the BD knockoffs and have a contest to see who's truck can go the longest without catching fire?

Not going to lie.... I have had these mounted behind my grill for a couple of years now and the dollar per lumen is fantastic. I cant spend $1k on lights I use sparingly, and I am not going 50 mph in the desert at night, so I bought 2 more off Amazon last week to fill up the remainder of the behind-the-grill mount

No shot you have the Amazon link? I want to replace my craptastic light bar with something that at least looks the part just a little bit more.

Edit: Scratch that. Shoot for 12 dollars a piece I may have to get a pair... or 6 lol. The reviews say to just immediately open them and then silicon seal them and you won't have issues.
