I love my soft topper. I'd have a hard time returning to a rigid bed cap.

RE - the poll: I owned a shell on my first pickup for about a year. Ever since I’ve been a toolbox guy. Nowadays I’m a toolbox with a bed rack, a bed slide, and ladder to get into the bed when needed.

I have a Retrax cover. It’s a ball bearing metal ish cover the rolls into a small box up towards the cab. It locks to and is strong enough to stand on. Kinda pricey though. Still able to do the below.

When I think about bed rail/ light bar combo I always think about the Toyota on Back to the Future. Love that truck!

    Goodnight everyone.

As for the poll: my bed is open. I have to many pool chemicals and equipment that needs access to during the day.

    Re poll:

Current setup is camper shell with a bed slide to reach the front of the bed. Has been super handy when we go with the camp trailer and I put my generators in the bed. Slide it out put them on and I don’t have to climb in and out.
I miss having a toolbox but keeping all my stuff dry is a plus. Ever had a tonneau cover as they never appeared to fit and function right.

RE-poll: have always run toolboxes on all my previous trucks. Was real nice in the long bed dodge, even with the tool box I had 6 foot of bed space. But when I downsized to the Tacoma I switch to a stainless RLD cap and a decked drawer system. Both have their pros and cons.

Sadie and I were watching the hunting public at work yesterday and somehow got on another show and a guy killed a whopper of an 8 in Kansas, he put it in the back of his rental car….a Kia soul

Then Sadie was going through my toolbox and said “look dad” o_O
