I’ve been reading a lot of positive feed back on that tune. I decided to give it a try, been talking with @mZiggy at YotaWerx. Marc has been awesome to work with. He’s quick to answer questions and very professional. I plan to load their Stryker tune today with a 90mm pulley. The 87mm pulley should come in a week or so.

Nope but a full tank of gas minus about 4 miles. Also had the oem tonneau cover on. I’ll pull the scales back out next time I’m back down at the old workplace.

Yukon 5.29 gears, Eaton ELocker, Stoptech 6 Piston front BBK + Stoptech 4 Piston rear BBK conversion (Tundra master cylinder upgrade), 315/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Advan RG-D2 17x8.5 wheels (Indigo Blue), Fox 2.5 PE mid travel w/DSC adjust, Icon RXT leaf pack, DRT shackle hangers w/crossbar, BTF high caster LCA, SPC UCA, OVTune 5.29 (87 regular tune), C4 Hybrid front bumper (30" Rigid light bar + 3" pods), C4 Rock Runner HC rear bumper (Baja Designs S1 wide cornering reverse lights), C4 oversized tire fender kit, Cali Raised trail rock sliders, Cali Raised Overland bed rack, Cali Raised bed stiffeners, RCI engine/trans/tcase skids, CBI fuel tank skid, Prinsu cab rack, Borla Type-S exhaust, Morimoto XB LED head + tail lights.

OP did you stay on stock gearing? Not sure if you are 6A or 6MT but re-gearing to 5.29 did way more for me and really transformed the truck especially if you are not on stock tire size (I'm running 315/70R17). I drove my friend's truck with 5.29 gears and the Maggie SC and it was an absolute pleasure to drive even with all the extra weight (bumpers, sliders, roof rack, bed rack, RTT, awning and road shower water tank plus gear in the bed) and this is coming from someone who drives a 1000HP car. Re-gear should be your first mod and if that still isn't enough for you THEN add the SC but personally for me the re-gear was a night and day difference especially when paired with a tune made for 5.29 gears. Re-gear is also half the cost of the SC, I was going to sell my truck before the re-gear and now she is a keeper. I think if I pair it with the SC I will end up keeping this truck for ever.

I can't make sense of this at all, I have the SC, self installed, with some other mods, and the SC bypass is totally mechanical. In fact there is no electronic control over boost. The boost volume is totally by the engine driven pulley, and the bypass is ONLY opened by vacuum. So If the lack of performance when cold, is due to the bypass being open, then it must be a sticking bypass valve, that gets pulled open by the strong idle vacuum when you first start the engine, but does not rotate freely, such that it will not spring closed, when you get on the gas (and vacuum is reduced).

I had noticed that the bypass was not freely rotating when I first installed it, so I lubed the one side of the shaft that is accessible, and it seemed to immediately free the rotation. My guess is you have a similar issue, or an assembly that is tighter than intended, from manufacturing tolerance. I would work the bypass by hand when stone cold, and again after your 10 min warm-up, for a comparison, then work to get it freed up when cold. I use T-9 lube.

Also could remove and plug the vacuum line from the bypass actuator, when stone cold, and close the bypass by hand, and take it for a spin, this also would confirm a sticky bypass when cold.

Sorry to hear that Magnusson did not work with you to find a solution. But I am extremely happy with mine, worth every penny. I test drove the Ranger twice and just could not bring myself to buy one, but also was ready to dump this Tacoma in the first year, then the truck was totally transformed by SC. Now the truck is total pleasure and very fun; plus is now a capable work truck for towing/hauling. Nothing crazy, but a powerful play and work truck, that will break the tires loose shifting to 2nd, if I get too rowdy. Is now a keeper! (AT and Yotawerx)

How did I miss this post? Damn :)

I can't agree more with this though
"Magnusson Co'. themselves are a bunch of arrogant, unhelpful, and rigid assholes who are sanctimonious in defending their rip-off product"

Yes they are. I have first hand expierience with those ass-hats.

The sound clips i've heard for the Magnuson are pretty underwhelming compared to the procharger.

I hear ya. I wanted more low end. The Maggie does that vs the procharger. Also the procharger kit comes with a fuel pump voltage booster so you get more psi's out of the kit vs Magnuson

Is it true for the 3rd gen, the fuel pump pressure boost? I have been under the impression that there are still not any successful fuel pump upgrades for this truck.

In my nearly 20 years of professional tech experience plus all the aftermarket/modified things I’ve done I can definitely approve of the terms used by the OP. I thought arrogant was good but rigid assholes and sanctimonious are also my favorite. I have my opinions on things but I digress, ultimately I’d never drop the coin on supercharging the 3.5 but that’s just me. Then again, I’ve probably spent stupid amounts of money on things I’d get laughed at here so it is what it is. And on that note, this sanctimonious rigid asshole is going to bed…

There is a guy with procharger issues but he has a pressure booster on his truck. I do remember OV selling fuel delivery upgrades with his higher boost twin turbo kits. I dont know if anyone successfully installed them.

I actually helped Matt at OV, with assembly of some early fuel pump controllers, then lost touch when he refunded me for the big turbo kit that never was. I only heard of one person who installed the FP upgrade and he described it as something like Wonky? I have not heard of any more development in it, but I also have not had any direct communication with Matt since.

There had been a thread here, where a member was researching modifying or upgrading the Direct Injector Pump, but i lost track of that too. Not sure where it stands. Personally i daydream of swapping in a Tundra v8 with a SC, but seems unlikely to materialize. Truck runs really nice with the SC, so little motive for such a big project.
