If you don't mind puking the engine in less than 5 years I guess..

Maybe different now but Coloradofans was a wasteland

Not sure about long term on the current but the older ones were junk

In any case, not worse than blown head gasket, rusted frame, unglued hood, flimsy tailgate, bad leaf springs, thin paint, peeling clearcoat ... oh, and plactic bed.

No you're not wrong. These trucks were built like shit. Just looking at the outside of them you can tell they were built by pinching pennies.

    "Legendary Toyota quality" my ass.

I've had mine for over ten years but that doesn't mean that I think it's any good, it's just better than all the other junk out there and even then, it's not better by much.

It's sort of like trying to take your pick out of which prostitute you want. They're all high mileage and all most likely have some form of STD, so you gotta find the one with the least amount of STD's and mileage on them.

You should definitely sell it and buy a ridgeline. I'm guessing the Honda forums are a great place to troll too.

So, if someone says something bad about Tacoma , then he is a troll ?
Should we say only good things about Tacoma ?

You're not wrong. Yet despite that, they still want to charge $50,000 for a subpar product.

They could do it, they just don't because the cost and labor to fix what shows on the visual side of the tailgate after initial welding offsets all the money they otherwise make by being cheap.

Nope, you can say what you want, positive or negative. Fact is you have 17 posts and all of them are in this thread.

I use lead-core line when I troll but some prefer down-riggers. You do you.

Toyota's drivetrains are what make them "legendary". Motors and transmissions that take abuse and run forever.

Honda is close in that regard--especially engines, but have built some crappy transmissions over the years (mainly due to Honda's auto transmissions being totally different than others).

Toyota still has issues with rust. They just can't seem to solve it...too cheap or too set in their ways I guess.

Rust can be solved! Over the last 15-20 years, companies like Honda have pretty much eliminated rust problems....so it can be done.

One possibility is that Toyota doesn't want to solve the rust issues on their trucks...else they would never sell any new trucks! "Planned obsolescence"....

    Toyota's engine legendary ?
Who in the world came up with the idea to design 4.7L and put the starter under the intake manifold ?
    Overheating/head gasket issues solved ?
    No!
Rust issues, thin paint, clear coat peeling ...

Honda is the best in engines, period!

Oh I can chirp about Toyota on some things as well don't get me wrong. Granted my frame rotted out in 2021 but they replaced it free and gave me a rental. My Colorado puked at 70K under the original powertrain warranty plus their secret warranty and it still took 3 months of fighting to have it fixed, plus the surprise bill for almost 2K when I went to get it that I didn't authorize and was told "GM will take care of you but I can't release it without getting paid and I'll have to charge storage too"..already 3 weeks of no vehicle as they wouldn't help me with a rental and having an ill parent to bring to appointments, I had little choice.

GM actually had the balls to tell me my issue is normal. Yeah..

Ok now you've struck a nerve. The 4.7L 2UZ-FE is a masterpiece of a Toyota engine. So are the 1UZ and 3UZ. They all last 500k miles plus with just oil changes. I've replaced the starter you have mentioned and it's not that bad. Bad location for a starter? yes. Bad engine design? Oh hell to the no!

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
if you live in the rust belt.. the starter under the manifold is godsend vs the starter under the exhaust manifold like most cars.. hell the 5.7 is a nightmare to replace vs the 4.7. hell i find it easier to replace than my 3.4 starters lol
