I want to level my truck with 150k miles. Is it worth getting all new shocks or keep the fox stuff? Ive been looking at rough country (not trying to break the bank) im not super atached to the truck i use it for everything daily driving hunting and pulling the boat to the lake. It gets beat up a little is what im saying. Its a 2017 trd pro.

2017 ... with 150k miles. When is the last time you had the Fox suspension serviced and rebuilt?

I mean in the end, it’s your preference.

Personally I would say if it has 150,000 miles and you want to make an upgrade anyway, I’d say it’s a good time to swap out the old stuff for new suspension. I bet it will ride like a new truck.

I have a spacer level for the time being and I plan on doing a real suspension lift around 100K miles so I get some use out of the stock shocks/springs.

    Definitely not an upgrade.

Whoa. Ok, so your Fox suspension may be trash at this point and not servicable (or not worth the cost of a rebuild compared to buying a whole new set).

I'd recommend going with Bilstein 5100s. These will give you the best value and since you're racking up a ton of miles, in like 2 years you can replace with something else if you want when these are starting to wear out.

Here's another member that just posted photos of 5100s on their truck.

Oh there will be some mods all right
At best rough country would be a parallel move (the vertex shocks) and anything else from them would be a downgrade. Depending on what shape your shocks and coils are in (if they are terribly corroded or not) it's worth getting them rebuilt. If you can't have your truck down that long waiting for a rebuild I would recommend getting really cheap shocks and coilovers (potentially stock trd off road take offs) to keep yourself on the road while the rebuild is happening.

I'm curious to learn what kind of shape the Fox shocks are in with that mileage.

Hotshot Offroad is active on TW and they have a kit on their site that has everything you need for the full suspension swap. That’s the first place that came to mind

You can get 5100 front and rears pretty cheap. For a little bit more you can go 6112 front and 5100 rears or 5160's. The 6112s are 2.6" bodies, so a wee bit beefier than the 5100s. I'm about to swap out my 2019 TRD OffRoad set up (30k on em) for the 6112 and 5160s.

I have the 5100s on my Gen2 and have zero complaints.

Where do you live? (Im on mobile right now and I can't tell where you're at). I'll give you my current off road set up if you want it. I'm in the CA Bay Area.

I looked at the comparable Fox2.0s and went with the billies because of the lifetime warranty.

Do the 5100s. Adjustable level in the front up to 2inches. Ride is night and day from stock, especially if you're running bigger/heavier tires. You can get all 4 from Stage3 Motorsports for 389$ OTD.
