    Yes 12v is right.

You don’t usually test continuity on A/F or O2 sensors.
But since you have no continuity at all, it’s likely the sensor.

You usually check resistance using ohms.

Brick and mortar stores can't compete with online supply. I'm not surprised they wouldn't price match.

Gotcha, I mean no continuity = no resistance, right? lol..
Well, the replacement should get here tomorrow so hopefully that’ll be the end of it.
You must have missed the part where they told me over the phone they would price match and held the part for me at the RockAuto price.

That was a pre-coffee/pre-meds comment so apologies if it was a bit snarky lol. :anonymous:

I’ve been bitten by the same cheap ass low quality cast tools.
I had a cheap set of crows foot adapters bust. Literally busted and shot one piece across the garage.

Good to see you got it fixed.

To avoid a new post I have a problem with code 0031. I have reason to believe there may have been a problematic repair that caused a wiring issue and thus would like to test it. Paid for a subscription but I have difficulty with Toyota's documentation. I don't understand their test procedure as it's a 4 wire oxygen sensor and they are not including one of the wires in the test. They do not show the internals of the oxygen sensor on the documents so it's not so easy to make sense of it. Looking at the generic tutorial on the right I would know to test to specified continuity from 4-3, then 2-1, then I would check each lead to ground (or case) and compare against specification. What is different about this sensor that we not test that way? Could the document be incorrect?

I think the test should involve all 4 leads but with no schematic of the sensor no way to tell for sure. Mfr documents can have mistakes just like anything else can.

    Also, to answer your question.
Code P031 applies to the HEATER circuit.
Pin 3 doesn’t have anything to do with the heater circuit.

I will do my best to explain how this code is set.
Current comes in to the sensor on pin 2 and out on Pin 1.
Then it goes to the ECM. The ECM monitors the current.
If the ECM doesn’t see enough current, it throws a code.

An open in the heater circuit could cause this issue.
As well as a bad sensor. Or a bad ECM, which is not likely at all.

Just need to know what's going on inside the sensor so I can test it.
