Updates... Betty is still going strong..

But with frame issues and approaching 300k on the clock, I've started the process of building V2 racecamper.... meet Maggie
    20230506_122630.jpg

2015 TRD Sport, only 56k on the clock and a clean frame!

Adventure rig will transition over this year and Betty will transition back to being a wheeler.

Me too.. it'll be a multi stage transition. Need to find a long term solution for tge frame... whether a frame swap or backhalf it and rebuild. IFS or solid axle.. many routes it may go...

But i would like to be the only owner of the truck, so we'll find some way to build it strong enough to last.

Rust.. we've been patching but it's hard to weld on the shit metal.. frame layers are separating weakening the shit out of it. Forward leaf spring mount frame area has been bending up. The patches front to back of the cab are good enough to keep it going for a while, but the back is very questionable.

Great to see the 2024 taco finally getting a boxed frame. They should have been doing that for many years. New truck is getting boxed early on before it even touches a trail.

    Making some progress..
    20230614_195735.jpg

    Headlight retrofit
Frame boxed, cmc, spindles gusseted, limit strap mounted, tie rod sleeves and secondary hoop made by Warfab
From Betty, swapped over the 2" TC expo kit with the kings up front. Rear got the deaver springs and icon shocks (temporary).
Front fenders cut 2"+ and wheel well beaten (rear to be cut)
    SCS F5 17x8.5 -10 wheels
Toyo open country r/t trail 35x12.5
SOS perf big brake 6 piston kit up front
Headstrong extended SS lines in the rear
    Magnaflow offroad catback
OTT tuned (need to reflash after regear)
Genesis dual battery diy tray with a set of odysseys
Switch pro 12 with a power tray for engine bay mount and wired in the cab...
Expedition essentials above radio assessory mount
    Birdawg techdech
Weathertech floormats and window vent shades
    DRL delete
    Smartap blinker relay

I think that's the big stuff so far..

working through some maintenance items too to start fresh. Engine and front diff oil changed so far. Will do tranny, tcase and rear diff before our trip in July. Air and cabin filters changed (went with afe pro dry for the intake). Belt to be changed, new wheel bearing assemblies will be swapped in..

basically hitting the refresh button on maintenance items so i know where exactly things are at. Carfax gave me some good news seeing all the services done by toyota, but you never know unless the truck has been in your hands.

Long list to knock out still in a short time to get it ready for a 2 week adventure!

Almost time for electrical work and fine tuning some items...

tires look small on the truck. the DCLB makes tires have weird proportions. everything else looks good tho
