    808 ALLDAY!!

    terribly, it sounds like it

I understand most fab shops can make product in a decent time when materials are readily available like 10 years ago....now day it should be more of a system of take a deposit 50% or whatever and then go from there but not take 100% of peoples monies and not deliver shit because of your steel supplier shortage.

I'm sure they start out small order batch qtys and then get overloaded with orders and blow their proposed level of production
then it just snowballs from there. I don't know these people nor even close, I live in Hawaii and a parts manager for a dealership. We are fighting everyday to get things. Just sucks to see stories like this.

support your local TW club/area and buy peoples take off's! instant gratification and maybe turn it into a Mod day in the process to meet new neighboring buds!

I remember seeing this when I looked up there number last year to check the status of my bumper, felt my heart sink a bit. I never did figure out the info for the bankruptcy stuff and never got a response from anyone. I'm chalking this one up as a "learning experience."

They sent me their logo thing and told me I can weld it on myself if I want for my sliders lmao. That and a sticker like two months after I finally got my sliders and might've been one of the last people to get anything from them :/

Damn that was fast. Yeah, it was a guy who said he was the “head fabricator” or something like that if I remember correctly. He said he was never an owner and only did contract work for them. It sounded kind of contradictory to me but I read it while I was out at lunch so I was slightly distracted.

He was basically advertising his new fabrication company and had some pics of rock sliders that he made.

If I read it correctly, it read like “I was the head fabricator but I never worked for the company”. But again, I could be misremembering. Maybe someone else who read that thread can chime in to confirm.

We're not interested in another fabricator/vendor when there have been 6 or more long time established shops closed up without warning in the last couple years.

I read it. The guy (Dusty?) basically said he wasn't here in TW to sell anything, but to clear his name. I don't know him or care one way or the other, but the post said he was only a subcontractor (hired to design/fab the sliders) for Derick/EO and was not involved in any decisions for EO's shady business practices.

He ended with saying he'd like to start fabbing again, but would follow the standard inventoried business model, which means the customer can purchase only when the item is already made and in stock (not EO's pay first, then build business model).

I kinda wish the post was left up and archived to dispel any false rumors...just lock it. Or delete the pictures of rock sliders he made.

Also he only posted the photos of the sliders because someone asked him to.
In that post he stated the photos aren't for advertising and only posting because he was asked about what he was working on.

Edit: I have no stake in this, I just happened to have read his post and remember the photos.

I'll say this, as someone who has never dealt with EO, nor who knows a single thing about the people who owned, managed, or worked with EO:

If someone's very first post opens with "lemme clear my name - I had nothing to do with it," as a bystander that type of statement immediately puts me in popcorn-drama mode. I'm not judging one way or the other, I don't know the guy, I don't know how involved he was with a failed business, and he very well probably had nothin' to do with it. Cool. But I'm not buying from someone who opens with that line either. Its probably best that it got deleted, because to the average know-nothing joe consumer, that kind of post immediately slammed my wallet shut.

i dont disagree with what you said above but to be fair... if he didnt try and get ahead of the potential storm with what first post and simply started his business and then was found out later to be associated with EO would things end up better? probably not. tough situation for sure.

I skimmed it but that was the basis as well, specifically that he had been subbing etc.

Hopefully if his hands are truly clean of the issues mentioned, he is successful. Sounds like he's got the right idea re purchase after it's made at least.

I have the EO sliders on my truck. Have talked to Dusty as well during install. He was very helpful and a nice guy.

He was associated to EO as he was a fabricator of the sliders and that was all.
They are in the past now and he has nothing to do w em anymore and is doing his own thing starting from the ground up as any new business would. Using his skills to make these sliders.
My sliders are very well built and would recommend anything he makes to anyone as i know they are fabricated with his expertise in metal and welding craftsmanship.

Way too many guys start a business, it takes off, and they totally lose control of their lifestyle and spending because they have never had so much money coming in in their life. Unfortunately they don't bother to budget expenses before they take their profits and blow them on personal stuff.

If you go wayyyyy back in this thread, I believe several people mentioned Derrick screwed over not just customers, but the workers too. IIRC, Dusty's wife has been in this thread trying to explain his role and clear his name, which is better than running and hiding I suppose.

I have EO sliders. I believe I got one of the last sets of Tacoma sliders before Derrick ended up going AWOL on everyone and EO went full Titanic. Having said that, I've never met Dusty. I've only heard him talk...in the install video.
