No room for me in there anymore and didn't want to have to fill up every time I stopped at the gas station

Ha. You have plenty of room compared to me. I have towers protruding in the engine bay, compressor, psc pump and reservoir among other crap. Plus I'm hardly in boost with 40" tires.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Had the front extended and rear center cut down. I don't think there's any need for anything further than that.

Wait until you start smashing your DL since you're more ballsy with dual case... I speak the truth, lol. Learn from me.

5gal is overkill. I would hate to lug that around. My small one last 2 week with in town driving.

lol... I already smash my DL (on rocks). I figure I'll probably be lighter on them in a lower gear.

    :turtleride:

Shock load is what wrecks things like DLs. I don't bounce now, and I'm less likely to bounce with the lower gears.

I carry a spare DL... if I need to use it, I'll make some changes then.

We'll see. Can always downsize. I wanted to be able to go on week long trips and not really have to worry about filling it.

    What nozzle you using?

Nope, I did it like this YouTube,
Did NOT pop the tie rods out either so there’s no worries for alignment needed to be done.
You have to use a small pry bar to get the rack moved around and a torque wrench that goes to 140 lbs,
Follow the lead on this example below

Yeah my issue isn't even the road salt as much as it is the sugar sand and water in the pine barrens. It gets EVERYWHERE. And mud on bigger trips, but I avoid that shit if I can.

This morning I finished swapping the spherical bearings and misalignments that I got from @TMFF at 303 Shocks.

My shop press was currently buried so I used my ball joint press.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

Went with the stainless ones, and I am interested to see how this new o ring setup works on keeping crap out too.

While my bearings were for sure worn out, they still probably had a little life left. The main reason for this also the reason why I replaced my cv boot. I keep making contact with the cv boot/boot clamp and shock body and my hope is to move the shock a little further from the CV to prevent this.

Any pro or cons with JBA upper control arms?
Looking at those as a possibility

    I don't run JBA's so I can't help you there, I run Icon's with Delta Joints.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

But I do like them a lot considering the conditions the truck sees. Been 3 years and I haven't greased it once, and no noise. Greasing that finally though and my UCA bushings is on the list for this current round of maintenance.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

These aren't replacements. They are OEM that I had the driveline shop modify. Everything on them is the same as OEM (with new Spicer CB and U-joints)

My 3rz (2.7 4cyl) idles around 675-775 rpm when warm. Is this normal or low? It seems like it should idle around 800 rpm. Any input is great. Thank you!

I did the steering rack bushings a few days ago and didn't have to touch the tie rods, just had the truck on jack stands with the wheels off the ground so there was some play and the rack could shift easier. Am I wrong in thinking that the bolts holding the steering rack in place will return it to exactly the position it was prior to removal, so no need to check the alignment?
