I have a 07 4x4 Tacoma. I pulled out of the driveway and went to accelerate, but nothing happened. The engine would not rev. I brought it to a mechanics shop and he changed a part on the engine and changed it again in event first part was faulty. But the problem persists. Any ideas for suggestions I can give the mechanic?

    thx, Joe

3.4L V6? If so, when were plugs and wires last changed? If it's been more than 60K or so, I'd start there.

What parts did the mechanic change? Start simple, air filter?

My lawn guy called me and said he had same problem on his Tacoma. He said he changed a sensor at the accelerator pedal and one at the engine and his truck ran then. Sound right?

No rev at all certainly sounds like it cold be the pedal sensor. It's all fly by wire anymore....

Really need to know what code(s) your getting in order to know what to check but sounds like an issue with the throttle control system or related circuits.
