I was thinking about buying 16x8 0offset SCS F5 and swapping the stock TRD Off-Road tires over. They are the Goodyear Wrangler 265/70R16. What do you guys think? Anybody done this with the stock tires? I am not gunna do a lift for awhile. I would just need to get lug nuts, swap the tires, and the TPMS sensors. I know 16s don't have as much in tire option but I just wanted to change the look of the truck a little. I found someone selling the F5's for $700 new in the box. Anybody got an idea of what it would look like or think it would be worth it? Would it ruin the tires or anything? Is it stupid to consider?

Not quite the same, but similar. I had the next size tires (265/70R17) mounted on the stock wheels. A friend was selling his Ray10s, so I had the tires swapped to the SCS wheels.

    Here are some pics:

I wasn't expecting any changes, but the offset improved the handling and quieted down some road noise.

You'll be fine. It won't hurt or mess up anything. Do it and don't look back.

PS - Welcome to TW. Tons of pictures of Tacos on SCS F5s floating around, just gotta search. There's a whole subforum for wheels & tires, as well as a wheels & tires for sale subforum. Google also works...

Dont think it's a waste? @blu92in99 Any recommendations on lug nuts? $700 a good deal? No need to get an alignment or anything?

Lots of good off road tires for the stock rim size. You'll be good

Whether or not it's a waste is entirely up to you. It's your money, your truck, and will be your wheels. @tonered set you up with the link for the lugnuts. $700 for a set, new in box, is a good deal though. I wouldn't worry about an alignment, not for a same-size* rim/tire change.

*yeah yeah, I know, the offset is -25mm different and the rim is 0.5" wider - have the alignment checked for peace of mind if you're worried about it. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, personally. You do you, boo.

Those will look great. Even just the offset alone will give it a much nicer stance, and better on road stability due to the increased track width. I went with TRD wheels on my existing tires which are stock size. I have good tires so will to a bigger size later down the road. I would pull the trigger if I were you!

I have tried to find this exact topic but I haven’t been able to in the forums. I bet it’s been done but it’s just super hard to find.
