CV Axle angle

Not too long ago, I installed new axles from CVJ axles as the previous cheap aftermarket axles had torn on me. The inner boots look great however the outer boot fins seems to be touching a bit. Keep in mind CVJ uses all OEM boots and parts when rebuilding their axles. Will this be an issue? Thanks!!

 

Looks just fine to my eye. Been running at a greater angle than that for years with no issues

If you are concerned about this, you can always do the boot slide mod.

 

If you look closely, there's a taper where the black outer boots clamp. If I were to slide the boot out some, the OD of the axle will be too small for the boot to clamp properly. Thanks for the suggestion though!

 

that’s the whole point though, it stretches the boot a tad so they don’t rub. Look it up, lots have done it. Your clamp would now be on the other side of the taper. That being said it looks fine to me
